House Ethics Committee is Now Investigating Devin Nunes

Source: Mediaite

The House Ethics Committee put out a statement, Thursday, confirming reports that they are looking into whether Devin Nunes disclosed classified information without proper authorization.

The House Intelligence Committee Chairman announced on Thursday that he was stepping aside from the congressional investigation into President Trump‘s connections to Russian activity during the 2016 election. This announcement came after Nunes made a controversial trip to the White House to brief Trump about his findings during the probe.

Nunes issued a statement today blasting the “false and politically motivated” accusations brought against him before the Office of Congressional Ethics. Nevertheless, the House Ethics Committee said they were proceeding with an investigation into Nunes’ possible infractions of the Code of Official Conduct.

You mean to tell me this was bullshit?

“The charges are entirely false and politically motivated, and are being leveled just as the American people are beginning to learn the truth about the improper unmasking of the identities of U.S. citizens and other abuses of power.”

Nun es already gave us the verdict. "false and politically motivated". Repubs don't investigate repubs.

Nunes is no longer the chair of the Intelligence committee so can't block the hearings now AND is being investigated for his total disregard of ethics rules.

If only Repugs weren't poised to eliminate the filibuster and put worker hater and plagiarist Gorsuch on SCOTUS, it would be a great day!

Such a troubled and troubling time we now live in! So sad that this criminal could subvert our country and lay waste to so many thoughtful good laws, allowing the 1% to rape and pillage at will.

She said that Nunes wouldn't be stepping aside unless one or more Repubs was wanting committee to proceed without him

Maybe one of the others? Who knows.

Mr. Nunes said that his decision came after “left-wing activist groups” filed accusations against him with the Office of Congressional Ethics. He called the charges “entirely false and politically motivated,” but he said it was in the committee’s best interests for him to temporarily step aside from the investigation.

If you're innocent, don't step aside. Explain yourself to your colleagues and the people. Typical Republican. Always gets a cheap shot in.

Rethugs breaking the law? Nooooo. There aren't enough laws on the books the Repugs want to break.
