Putin Loyalists Are Invading Washington

Source: Bloomberg

A dozen Putin loyalists attended the National Prayer Breakfast and a private dinner with Republican congressmen sponsored by Rockefeller heir George O’Neill. The leader of the Russian delegation to the National Prayer Breakfast was central bank Deputy Chairman and reported crime boss Alexander Torshin. Torshin, a gun enthusiast, has also been to NRA gatherings:

Torshin said in the interview he stayed clear of then-candidate Trump at last year’s N.R.A. event to avoid controversy, dining with Donald Trump Jr. instead..... What was scheduled, though, was a private dinner for Torshin and his Russian colleagues that was hosted by Rockefeller heir George O’Neill Jr. and included Republican lawmakers Dana Rohrabacher of California and Thomas Massie of Kentucky, as well as a longtime lobbyist, a Hollywood director and editors from The National Interest and the American Conservative magazines.

O’Neill said Russians need to be reassured that “very serious” Americans understand the “obvious benefits” of better relations. Rohrabacher, who’s visited Moscow several times, said he’s interested in “lowering the temperature” of U.S.-Russia relations and finding ways to cooperate in combating “our mutual, overarching enemy: radical Islamic terrorism.” Trump invited him for a private talk in the White House this week.

Ronald Maxwell, who directed the 1993 Civil War film “Gettysburg” and wrote for Breitbart News when it was run by senior White House adviser Stephen Bannon, said the Americans urged their Russian guests to let the Kremlin know that Putin can help Trump by “being patient.” “Trump needs to lock up some major domestic victories,” Maxwell said by phone. “Then he’ll be in a better position to do the things internationally he wants to do.”

In the meantime, Russian businesses are pushing ahead with projects to try to bring the two countries closer together. Russia’s top lobbyist is organizing a road show for entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to investors across America this summer. And the co-owner of a leading for-profit university, Synergy, plans to hire Mike Tyson to promote a business conference in New York in October, followed by one in Moscow in November.

So while Russian diplomats and government agents may be foiled due to Trump/Russian investigations, Russian businessmen are poised to take up the slack.

2. As Trump prepares to sell off our infrastructure, we need to make sure that he is not allowed to

sell it to the Russians or the Chinese. He will do anything for money. Even if it harms the country and we all know it. I think lots of us need to start contacting the GOP leaders that actually still care about security and military issues.

7. The investor class is banking on reduced government oversight...

on everything from worker safety, overtime pay, banking regulations, equal pay for women, you name it. Our loss is their gain.

5. They've been buying properties in the US for years

That's how Trump & Company have been laundering money for the Russian mafia.

How do we stop this? I'm not sure, except maybe to catch Trump in the act, or follow a paper trail.
There may not even be a paper trail, if his lawyers are worth their pay.

10. We begin by taking back the House and the Senate next year.

That is a MUST.

EVERYBODY has to get their asses to the polls and VOTE. Don't care that it's "just the midterms (yawn)". I hope our fellow Dems have finally learned a hard and horrifying lesson about the cost of rolling over and going back to sleep once you think you've won. About dropping your guard. About easing up. Your adversaries will NOT be rolling over and going back to sleep - GUARANTEED. They'll be up and out working their butts off while you doze. That's why they are where they are, now: owning it all - INCLUDING AT THE STATE AND LOCAL LEVEL.

11. Oh hell yeah

... but Trump will keep laundering funds for the Russians, even after he's out of the WH.

I say we should BAN Russians from coming to the US.
They obviously aren't doing any good here.

6. They're here to buy politicians

There's no business to be had in Russia other than big oil. That economy has lower GDP in Italy. Its sunk.

13. They should invest in their own infrastructure

... I mean, duh!

We have to keep their mafia money out of the USA. The European Union has already done that, so why can't we?

14. By that measure, China, having a smaller GPD than Russia, has no business to be had either...

By that measure, China, having a smaller GPD than Russia, has no business to be had either...

Which would be irrational, at best.

Ignoring GNP, per capita income, et al is a wee bit biased.

17. Big differences btwn. Russia and China

GDP is certainly not the only measure. True that. I'm not an expert but...

Russia's political climate is much more volatile, restricted opportunities due to sanctions, laws horribly corrupt controlled by handful of oligarchs and kremlin, much less advanced capitalistic structure, less per capita income, primitive manufacturing base, not open to western culture, minuscule trade exchange. It does have giant oil fields.

Here's an article.
