Trump's border wall faces legal battles over private land

Source: al Jazeera

Before the construction of President Donald Trump's wall on the US-Mexico border can begin, the government must acquire land along the border that is currently privately owned.

The move might lead to legal battles with Americans such as the Flores family in in Los Ebanos, Texas.

They settled along the Rio Grande River, just across from Mexico, more than 100 years ago.

The border in this area has been a hot spot for unauthorised crossings in the past, with migrants using rafts to cross the river.

And it has to be built within US border not along it. And in the middle of the Rio Grande, wow that is going to add to the costs and further environmental destruction!

except for everyone but the orange horror occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

(Wait until someone tells him that the actual border fence/wall is up to a mile away from the 'legal' border in some places, due to physical topography and, well you know - reality!)

I think we got things in good enough order that it will be more than 4 years before these eminent domain cases get settled. Sorry Donny. Let's get on with your next childish fantasy shall we?

paints the Repugnants into a corner say by requiring all of the funding for the wall to be gotten from Mexico before "any" land is taken from anyone against their will.
No matter which way the Repugnants vote on it puts their butts in the fire.

They will wrest this land from people by Eminent Domain, and then there will be no wall built. I hope these folks can get good lawyers who can file restraining orders.

Not so much out in the deserts and mountainous parts of the border.

IOW where fences make sense, they are mostly already there.

Ahead of schedule and under budget. And it's the best wall ever. The best, believe me.
