Source: CBS News

(CBS) George Zimmerman will appear on the Fox News channel's Sean Hannity program at 9pm eastern time Wednesday.

The first major interview with Zimmerman, who is charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, will take up Hannity's entire hour-long program, according to a statement from Fox News.

According to the statement, "Zimmerman will open up about what happened the night of Trayvon Martin's death and his experience in the aftermath of the fatal shooting."

Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty and maintains that he shot Martin in self-defense.

Would allow their client to be interviewed by Hannity for an hour. Probably just another shameless money-grubbing attempt.

"Before he was charged with killing Martin, the former neighborhood watch volunteer contacted Hannity and spoke with him off-the-record. This move was among several that prompted his original attorneys, Hal Uhrig and Craig Sonner, to drop him as a client on April 10."

I'll bet that Uhrig and Sonner are counting their lucky stars for their decision to have dropped Zimmerman back in April!!!!

Hannity is a sorry excuse for a journalist who's been carrying water for Zimm since day one just because he's a rightie who goes along with whatever the NRA says - like all good wingnuts. This interview will be all softballs.

Leave it to Repugs to politicize everything...

What a move! Fox will distract us all from wanting to see Mr. Rentme's taxes (and rally the GOP base) by putting Zimmerman on the tube.

Guess he's this election cycle's Joe the Plumber!

Then Zimmerman might have to answer some real questions instead of just saying "Yes, yes!" to Hannity's toe-sucking.

it's a safe bet that most of those who are likely to contribute money to him watch Fox News. This way the RNC don't have to get their hands dirty.

And I'd rather watch an hour of Justin Bieber music videos than Hannity schmoozing over a psycho creep. But hey, Zimmerman isn't the first racist creep who's got Hannity's sympathy.

PS: Wednesdays on the Malloy show are "Church Night" where Mike devotes most of the show to criticizing religion, but maybe he should play an audio feed of Fox News Channel for a few minutes and insert his own commentary.

That idiot judge should have kept GZ parked right in his cell until the trial. Now that he's loose, no telling what's going to happen. What an embarrassment.

And in thanks for being freed, GZ and his acolytes blasted the judge for being "unfair" and demanded a new judge. That's his reward for trying to be magnanimous. He should have known who he was dealing with.
