Mitt Romney: I’m not predicting Iowa victory

from Politico:

Mitt Romney told the “Today” show Tuesday that he’s not predicting a victory in Iowa, after telling a crowd of supporters last night he was “going to win this thing.”

“If I get 25 percent, if that turns out to be the case, that will most likely be the highest number, so winning is just fine. I’m not predicting a win. Maybe I get 20 percent, someone else gets 25 percent,” Romney said.

Romney’s aides clarified Monday that his comment about “going to win this thing” referred to the GOP nomination and not the Iowa caucuses.

“We built a lot of strength last time around, built a lot of friendships that have been helpful to me this time, and I’m really pleased we’re probably going to do pretty well and have the sendoff we need for a long campaign season,” Romney told “Today” in a segment that was taped Monday.

Or, once a flip-flopper, always a flip-flopper...

1. He has to change his story since Santorum is on the march and Ron Paul has a change to

kick his ass.

He's such an arrogant, pompous asshole. I hope he gets his ass handed to him tonight!!

2. Sheesh, he even flip-flops on electoral predictions, and in one day!

Never, ever say you "going to win this thing"--and then don't win the thing. I guess he realized it a little late.

3. What a wimp! So what if he said he was going to win? What else SHOULD he say

and then have the guts to stick to it?

4. Jeepers! Completely spineless! This is what they have to pick from? Guys

who have to change their stories on a daily basis, when they don't even need to?

Are the repukes TRYING to lose to Obama without Obama having to do any campaigning whatsoever?

5. What a goof

Nothing like inspiring your followers with some enthusiasm...I think the idea here Mitt is to get people excited about you.

Probably doesn't matter...he might waltz into the nomination anyway.

8. The media is diminishing expectations for him to win

and suggesting that it doesn't really matter who wins here, that Iowa isn't representative of the country at large and building up Romney's chances in NH.

9. HaHa

That sounds a lot like this...

In a December 2007: "I saw my father march with Martin Luther King."

Days later: "I did not see it with my own eyes but I saw him in the sense of being aware of his participation in that great effort."

10. By winning this thing Mitt was saying he wasn't going to win this thing

"We're going to win this thing with all of our passion and strength and do everything we can to
get this campaign on the right track to go across the nation and pick up other states, to get the
ballots I need, the votes I need, to become our nominee," Romney said.

***********

But please be nice to Mitt how can he remember what he said 24 hours ago .... that is such
a long time ago.

If Obama didn't have so much work to do he should have stayed on vacation longer because
the crazy clown car is out of control.

12. Well he's in first right now... 23%...

Of course a handful of votes separate him from Santorum and Paul in second and third (also with 23%).

His sacred underwear has Santorum spread all over it.
