Trump Supporter Jeanine Pirro Defends Hillary Clinton Over FBI Announcement

Source: Huffington Post

Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro came to Hillary Clinton’s defense on Sunday, criticizing FBI Director James Comey over his recently announced investigation into new emails relating to the former secretary of state.

“Comey’s actions violate, not only long-standing Justice Department policy, the directive of the person that he works under, the attorney general,” the former prosecutor said, referring to Loretta Lynch’s reported disagreement with Comey, “but even more important, the most fundamental rules of fairness and impartiality.”

A vocal supporter of GOP nominee Donald Trump, Pirro said Comey’s decision to announce the investigation so near Election Day reminded her of her own experience while running for New York attorney general in 2006. She called a DOJ investigation into her practices at the time “mean-spirited, and of course, nothing came of it except the adverse publicity cost me at the polls.”

“What was done to me in 2006 was wrong, and what happened to Hillary Clinton was equally wrong,” Pirro said. “Now this nation has already gone through an exhausting and traumatic campaign season. The FBI director should not now be front and center.”

The thing with Pirro is that I doubt that the FBI Director himself sent a letter to Congress a week or so before her election. Indeed, it seems like Pirro herself publicly confirmed the investigation without any formal announcement by the FBI:

ALBANY, N.Y. – Ex-prosecutor Jeanine Pirro, under federal investigation for plotting to secretly record her husband over suspicions that he was having an affair, said Wednesday that any probe into her marriage was "highly improper" and she had no intention of quitting her run for attorney general

Pirro, speaking at a Manhattan news conference, confirmed the investigation but said that prosecutors had no business delving into her troubled union with lobbyist Albert Pirro, who spent 11 months in prison on tax fraud charges and fathered an illegitimate daughter after their wedding.

"Sometime last year, I came to believe that my husband was seeing another woman," Pirro said. "In the midst of matrimonial discord, I was angry and had him followed to see if what I suspected was true. Although I spoke about taping him, there was no taping by me of anyone. There was anger, and frustration, and disappointment."

The former Westchester County district attorney spoke with Bernard Kerik, the disgraced ex- New York police commissioner, about possibly placing a recorder in a room to listen in on her husband, said two people familiar with the situation, who spoke to The Associated Press only on condition of anonymity. Kerik's attorney declined to comment on the case

...by former prosecutors against trying to big foot an election by publicly announcing ...speculation. Look at the WSJ article. The FBI knew that there were some e-mails from Huma on Weiner's laptop for weeks, and they did not see fit to seek an expanded warrant. So, they take their time, mention it to Comey, then suddenly he is once again making himself the center of attention and trying to bigfoot the election based on speculation.

I never thought I'd see the day a Trump supporter would put politics aside and do the right thing.

manufactured ploy to encourage Comey not to release some really damning shit about Trump which he has just obtained. Why else would Trump supporters be screaming "Hatch Act Violation"?
