House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy questions timing of Trump accusers' claims

Source: LA Times

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy is sticking with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump despite claims from several women who say Trump groped or kissed them without their consent.

Dozens of Republican House and Senate members across the country pulled their support for Trump after the Washington Post released video and audio of a conversation he had during a 2005 "Access Hollywood" appearance. Since then, multiple women have described interactions with Trump similar to what Trump described on the tape.

On Thursday, McCarthy told his hometown paper, the Bakersfield Californian, that allegations come up at the end of a campaign because there isn't time to rebut them.

“Why do people throw these types of things in the last days, and why wasn’t something like this brought out earlier?” McCarthy said. “People love to do things late because then you don’t have enough time to explain.”

for a tape of your candidate saying he sexually assaulted women to come out. Perhaps they can tell us what a good time would be for your candidate to deny that he actually did what he said he did, throwing down the gauntlet for women to come forward and challenge his claim that he never sexually assaulted women.

he denied it, they are now coming forward. That is why the timing is the way it is.

As I read, the Billy Bush tape was found because he bragged about it during the Olympics. I think Trump was already the nominee then. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

They then needed time to dig it up and (as I read) were taking time deciding whether to edit or not.

I can understand that there's probably a strong urge when unexpected flyby assault happens to just not talk about it because it's so uncomfortable. But then when you see the aggressor running for President, and he specifically says he doesn't do the thing he did to you...

I imagine that sometimes there's a tendency to think something like this is a fluke and if a solitary victim speaks up that it will be he said/she said. We know how hard it is for a woman sometimes to make authorities believe her in cases where there's no physical evidence (or even when there is.) When someone comes to the realization "hey, I wasn't the only one; oh god, this wasn't an isolated incident and he needs to be stopped!" ... I can see how victims might not come forward initially.

for a vote, since you got into power-----------two (2) that was the last time it was reported when you were trying to be speaker of the house.
And then you made this asinine comment:

“Why do people throw these types of things in the last days, and why wasn’t something like this brought out earlier?” McCarthy said. “People love to do things late because then you don’t have enough time to explain.”

You have been doing this for years you and your party, have been doing this when you shut down the government, trying to defund planned parenthood, and the worse one is that your party has only presented stop gap spending on the budget for years, and not funding infrastructure, unemployment benefits, heath care. How many committee hearings has this country had on the above issues since you have been made Majority Leader-----------you can put them on one hand, and its the one middle finger that you extend to the citizens of this country every time you speak and say you support this bigot.

So for the years that you have been in Congress, standing behind John Boehner and now Paul Ryan, what exactly have you been doing, nothing, you are supporting a serial predator, making over $223,000 a year and working only 111 days this year, you have no principles and you should be voted out right along with everyone in your party.

You and your party supported your platform nominee, you are a supporter of a racist, narcissistic, megalomaniac, fraud, that has committed a fraud of business owners, mom and pops, and when put people there life savings in a fraudulent university, and a man that gave money to two state attorney generals ( Texas & Florida) to drop investigations on that scam university.

You support a "guy" that should have been put in jail years ago.

You are only concerned with what happens in the U.S. Supreme Court and you want to eviscerate the social safety nets in this country, while you presented only two bills in Congress and make over $223,000 a year being a right wing hypocrite that is deceitful when it comes to family values------------you and your party are going to lose, you have no moral principles or decency

And then you said this, lets read again what you said, and you are someone sitting in the Congress, presently on vacation ----again

“Why do people throw these types of things in the last days, and why wasn’t something like this brought out earlier?” McCarthy said. “People love to do things late because then you don’t have enough time to explain.”

Since you are on vacation try to explain, your right wing principles of supporting a bigot, racists, predator

The dumpster owns you and you own him, and your comfortable with that ----right, you don't know what no means, and whats the difference between right and wrong-------------you are scary, and your passing laws

Before now it was not absolutely necessary to issue a warning to the public that there's a monster on the loose trying to bust into the White House so he can play God with the planet just to satisfy his ego. But with voting now starting his victims cannot wait any longer to speak up.

They probably would not have come forward to do their civic duty if he had not forced them to by running for the most powerful position on the planet and getting this close.

25. Why is Russia just now, in October, releasing info on hacked Democrat e-mails?
Fri Oct 14, 2016, 01:45 AM
Oct 2016

We have two conspiracy theories here.

One is that Hillary Clinton and the Democrats have the American "mainstream media" working on their side.

Two is that Russian oligarchs led by Putin are hacking our voting systems and Democratic Party computers to fix the election in favor of Donald Trump. In fact, since the Trump campaign apparently has advance notice of the contents of the Russian leaks, you may assume that Trump is in cahoots with Putin.

Let's say, just for the sake of argument, that both theories are true. That the worst case scenario is real.

So here is our choice. A politician in bed with some of our own American media, or a businessman colluding with the power mad Russian dictator.

Not a tough call, really.

36. Why now? Because Billy Bush bragged about what Trump said, at the Olympics
Fri Oct 14, 2016, 09:54 AM
Oct 2016

and that started the hunt for the tape:

Billy Bush bragged about vulgar Trump video to NBC staffers

Billy Bush brazenly bragged to NBC staff about the vulgar Donald Trump tape while covering the Olympics in Rio, multiple sources tell Page Six.

Proving the infamous Ryan Lochte interview wasn’t Bush’s only Rio recklessness, the shamed “Today” host boasted at a party in August that he had a “tape of Trump being a real dog,” prompting staffers at “Access Hollywood” to track it down.

Bush never told NBC News brass about the tape when he joined “Today,” and they’re not happy about it. “Billy was bragging about the tape to other NBC staff while in Rio. If he knew about the tape, and remembered the full extent of such an explosive conversation with a presidential candidate and didn’t disclose that to NBC News, that is a very, very serious problem,” the insider said, adding it could violate the “morality clause” in his contract.

Another insider added, “It is not clear if Billy remembered the exact level of vulgarity in the conversation with Trump, or if he instead realized its news value and didn’t declare it to protect himself.”
