Howard Dean Says Sorry-Not-Sorry for Trump Cocaine Tweet: ‘I Apologize for Using Innuendo’

Source: Mediaite

Former Vermont Governor and DNC chairman Howard Dean offered a sardonic apology to Republican presidential noninee Donald Trump Friday over his recent suggestion that the real estate mogul is a cocaine user.

During a conversation with Stephanie Ruhle about the media’s responsibility to hold Trump accountable to the truth, Dean lamented how much time networks have given Trump to offer questionable innuendos that make for juicy content to drive ratings.

“I apologize for using innuendo. I don’t think it’s a good thing to do, I don’t think it’s the right thing to do…I’m not unwilling to apologize for using innuendo. I don’t think that’s a reasonable thing to do. Donald Trump has used innuendo from the day he got into this campaign, and you media have not called him on it.”

If it's not the blow, this guy has a REAL problem. My guess is that he will have some kind of complete mental breakdown before the next debate.

will completely unhinge him. Melania will have to grab Barron and skedaddle out of T Tower real fast that Friday night as 3 nights of no sleep finally causes donald to hallucinate an even more bizarre reality than what Hillary alluded to last Monday.

The election is the beginning of his end unless he develops healthier coping skills very quickly.

The problem is what HE did. Not to mention, I think it absolutely incredible that he would argue that she is discredited because she is alleged to have (after the time she was Miss Universe) made a sex tape. In the first place, the charge that he was abusive did not come only from her. Trump brought in the media and fat shamed her and made her exercise in front of them. (Ignore that the film does not show an overweight woman - making the claim that she gained 60 pounds ludicrous.)

Aside from the fact that what she did years later has no bearing on the disgusting way he treated an 18 year old girl, she was actually in a position where one would hope the pageant would support and protect her as she experienced being away from her home and country and suddenly being famous. Trump has not claimed that during that year she was breaking laws, flouting commitments or acting in a scandalous manner. The only thing she is accused of is gaining weight -- yet even in exercise clothes she looks very attractive. I find it hard to believe, with all the resources of the pageant, that even if a winner did gain weight that they could not dress her so that she looked gorgeous for the year when she represents them. (You could argue that this would have been a much better thing to do for the pageant itself)

Trump's actions show more about him. He did not care the pain he caused to her or the fact that the public nature of that was negative publicity. However, now attacking her credibility by alleging she made a sex tape shows how clueless and blind he is to his own situation. It is weird that he does not get that he is running for President with a wife, who would become First Lady, whose soft porn pictures have already graced the New York Daily News. Does he want someone to point out that if that would discredit anything that Alicia ever said, that Melania is similarly discredited and people are being asked to make her First Lady.

His world of university fraud, non-profit fraud, spending his charity's money on himself, etc is closing in on him while he is powerless to stop the taunts of a woman who has exposed him for the blowhard women-hating racist liar that he is. He can't sleep and stays up all night snorting blow and tweeting segments of his insane inner dialog. Casey Jones is heading for a mighty crash.

...and he claims has never had a drink since, which I actually believe. However addiction runs in families, his erratic behavior throughout his whole life and especially recently clearly shows he has the traits of an addictive personality. (as does over eating, gambling, sex, etc). So I wouldn't be surprised if someone introduced him to coke recently and he is getting addicted to it. Ironically as he stiffs everyone else that does stuff for him I guarantee he is paying his dealer.

In his letter DTs said the man was a fine upstanding citizen and he knew him well and socialized with him. Too bad about his little spot of trouble with the law for dealing coke.

I apologize for not having a link, but someone posted the story here recently, with link to sources. Someone should be able to find it.

Whatever Donald's troubles are they are not likely to be recent. His personality disorder goes back to his childhood upbringing by his dad (winners, losers, eugenics, bully the weak and destroy them). He's a malignant narcissist with the gift of swaying the masses and suckering them for all they've got. He's a sociopath. He projects all his own behaviors onto others and he projects all his own evil characteristics onto others.

In running for Prez he's bitten off more than he can chew, and it's showing. It's taken a toll physically and mentally on this 70 y.o. man. He's puffy, bloated, and doughy. He can't physically or mentally sustain a 90 minute debate; long before it was over he was clinging to the podium, stooping, eyes puffing shut, answers making no sense. He has one skillset and up to now it served him well -- but he does not seem capable of learning anything new. Not only does he immediately fall back on old patterns when stressed, but his rants become word salad. Where has he gotten the energy to stay up all night tweeting as fast as his pudgy fingers can fly? He needs the sleep, but he's not getting it.

I wonder if he's been using various drugs for energy for decades, and they are now taking their toll. His behaviors during and after the debate have made me start to wonder if there is now something organically wrong with his brain, like the beginnings of dementia. I'm not being ironic, satirical, or sarcastic here. He looks unhealthy.

the media knows that with trump they are dealing with a very weird, eccentric, loose cannon, a mental child with dangerous, hate fueled supporters. They are scared of him and the explosive nincompoops who follow his laughable "lead".

First they courted him like an oddity. They enabled his freakishness. They created the circus. Now the creeps are out and uncontrollable.

With few exceptions Trump makes them lose all sight of their profession duties and obligations to the public and apparently wipes out their integrity.

but the pictures I have been receiving convince me pretty well. And people have been talking about those trained sheep in his lobby - the one who get real scared when he comes around - they have been bleating about things. Just saying....

Dean is making an incredibly important point - his innuendos are spread far and wide without criticism and Dean and others are criticized for that kind of behavior.

Dr. Dean -- great, great point!
