Rachel Maddow Show, Sept. 2 - Discussion regarding the Trump campaign bringing on David Bossie.

Source: Rachel Maddow Show

Rachel has spent the whole first part of her show discussing that the Trump campaign has hired David Bossie whose entire role will be to attack Hillary. He's the horrific villain who has been behind and created the Clinton conspiracies for all of these years! Hillary's campaign MUST implement foolproof strategies. I can't stress this enough. I'm sure they already know this degenerate is on board. Having said that, I'm wondering if people should flood Hillary's campaign offices via phone calls and emails regarding this situation. Rachel and Dan Rather were saying things about this monster that was scaring the crap out of me! I'd love DU'ers feedback on this situation.

After all, he's been behind the anti-Clinton conspiracies for the last 20 years so they know his tricks. I wouldn't lose any sleep over this. He's not bringing anything new. Don't think for a minute that the Clintons aren't able to defend themselves or aren't doing oppo research.

when he said Trump has kept Hillary's campaign on the defense when her campaign needs to be going on the offense, big time. I think he's right. When Hillary gave her alt-right speech, the Trump campaign was hit hard. Of course the media should have shouted from the rooftops, "lookie here, not a peep out of the Republican establishment refuting anything in her speech," but they didn't.

When did that happen?

All I have seen for the last few weeks is Trump brain farting his way through the election with one controversy after the other. If that is what passes for keeping Hillary on the defensive bring on more of it!

Granted, he'd be totally ineffective if he didn't have the media doing most of his work for him. But, I think Rather's point was more that if Hillary starts attacking more, it will give the media something else to focus on and put Trump back in the position where he'll get all worked up and make even more ridiculous screw ups & comments, and that will then attract the media away from their 24/7 effort to turn the foundation and her emails into something scandalous. Every time Hillary has gone on the attack, Donald gets super defensive - he can't seem to shut up and move on. It has been very effective.

I hate that it has come to this, but it's almost like the media is doing Trump's work for him. Sometimes I think they are so scandal driven that one could easily control what is seen in the headlines simply by creating the drama that draws them in.

Rather was very vocal about his concern that Bossie will really start to do a number. He made it sound like Bossie will be a nightmare and the attacks will be relentless. He said what's coming will be worse than a bathroom at a frat house on New Year's Eve. Granted kids will be on winter break then and not on campus, but you get his message.

I know Hillary has got an amazingly talented group of people working for her, but the one thing they don't have that Trump's people do have is the luxury of playing outside of the rules. When you're up against people who have no concern about doing whatever it takes to win, illegal or otherwise, that creates an uneven playing ground, and sometimes smart and talented isn't enough when you're dealing with corrupt people who are working together as a freaking army.

I hope the experience her people have gained from dealing with this shit for the last 30+ years has served them well enough to get her through whatever the evil forces have planned for her.

and my guess is that trump will trot these out on debate night... and since it is totally fabricated shit, it will be hard for Hillary to do anything other than simply deny it. But that turns into he said / she said and the moderators are unlikely to step in and call Trump on his shit.

This way they won't be debating each other, they will be answering questions from the audience and NBC News. It will be the perfect format to highlight Trump's complete ignorance when it comes to foreign affairs, assuming NBC doesn't let him get away with bullshit. I'm hoping he'll be such a fuck-up that he'll run away with his tail between his legs and subsequently throw all his "high energy" into finding a way to weasel out of the actual debates.

That said, if Clinton's campaign feels totally confident they can counter his attacks effectively and totally trounce his ass during the debates, then I hope he's foolish enough to go through with them.

Republicans are going to make shit up about Hillary Clinton! I don't think she's prepared for that! She may lose the coalition of black, Latino, woman, Asian, Democratic, labor, pro-choice, young, moderate Republican people behind her with 64 days to go. You know, she's a woman with tons of experience so she has no idea how to run a campaign against a desperate newbie.

She exposes a significant aspect to who this man (Trump) REALLY is. The devious evil man behind the buffoon we dismiss so cavalierly. No doubt Borman led Trump to make this hiring decision. This dispels ANY NOTION that Trump is trying to lose the election. This is a cold, calculated decision. Trump wants to win in the worse way. To take this sleazy CRIMINAL on reveals the black hearted SLIM BALL Trump truly truly is. If Kellyanne Conway wants to retain any of her professional reputation and credibility, she better resign rather than stick it out and allow the Trump campaign to use her. She is slowly becoming a paid prostitute willing to perform any nasty trick in the book. People need to see how despicable and slimy Bossie is. Far back as 1992 when Papa Bush was running for POTUS, this man was harassing people trying to tie Bill Clinton to the suicide of a young woman.
