DORAL, Fla. - Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Wednesday dismissed claims made by Democrats that Russia hacked the Democratic National Committee emails to benefit his campaign.
Trump said he's never met or spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin, but he said the incident with the hacked emails demonstrates that Putin and other world leaders no longer respect the United States.
He said it may not even be Russia behind the email breach and suggested that China may be the culprit.
Trump said that he hopes Russian hackers find and share Clinton's missing emails.
"Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing," Trump told reporters Wednesday morning at Trump National Doral Miami. "I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press."

Assange is all about protecting his own ass now. He couldn't care less if Trump gets elected and causes the downfall of the entire planet.

Running for the position of Commander in Chief is unquestionably connected with the national defense. Some sources are estimating that Trump has received up to $300 million in loans and investment from Russia. He just openly conspired to commit espionage.

(10,857 posts)Trump isn't the son of a CIA director, surrounded by Defense industry magnates. He hasn't been nearly as able to conceal his financial relationship with the foreign entity performing the illegal acts, as Bush was able to conceal his prior financial relationship with Saudi Arabia and the bin Ladens.
Instead, he's surrounded by a bunch of knuckle-dragging racists and minor-league political managers--and servants of a foreign nuclear power--who appear to be at least as unaware of the definition of espionage as Donald Trump himself is unaware.
I am beginning to suspect that Trump is about to have a sit-down with the FBI, and they're going to offer him a deal: dropping out of the race would serve national security interests without having to imprison him for life.
I'm pretty sure he'll take that deal.
If it happens, it's going to happen fast, fast, fast, because if he wins he can exonerate himself, grant himself security clearances, and be protected from impeachment by the Republican Congress. The GOP could be brought on board with the prospect of being able to put together a second convention (in 2008 the conventions were in September).

(10,857 posts)But again, if elected, Trump can be tried and convicted, and still retain his office because it's Republicans in the Senate who would determine whether he stays or goes. If he drops out now, the national security crisis is averted before it starts, with little actual damage being done.
So the obvious play is to privately pressure him into dropping out of the race, let him make it look like it's his own decision, let him say whatever he wants about it, and slap his traitorous hand while thanking him for leaving.

(2,208 posts)He's Trump the teflon dictator.
He'll just claim he was joking, he'll make some snide remarks about Democrats having no sense of humor AND then I bet his poll numbers will go up because too many voters are simply brain-dead.
I am beginning to suspect that tRump spews this type of inane garbage as part of his GET OUT THE VOTE plan, his rabid supporters eat this crap up and THEY will show up in November.

He is just trying to get some attention because he know Obama and Biden are about to hand his @ss to him on a platter tonight. He wants to divert the attention from that. Figures if he says something crazy the media will follow that carrot instead of paying attention to what the convention tonight.

(194 posts)He basically invited Russia to hack U.S. servers to obtain information, and if they already have it, he encouraged them to release the emails and they'll be rewarded by our press. Can anyone imagine how Putin is laughing with delight at that level of ignorance from a potential future President of the United States of America. It is absolutely stunning. It will be political malpractice if some of his statments are not worked into the speeches tonight, or definitely by Hillary tomorrow.

While I think there were culturally conservative and nationalist aspects to the Soviet Union's later periods, I think they're very different political entities. (4,038 posts)This has got to be one of the most disgraceful things a Presidential candidate in the US has EVER done.
He has invited hackers from a foreign government to hack a former US Secretary of State, who is also his current Presidential campaign opponent. Sorry for stating the obvious but I am quite frankly too shocked yo think straight.

(1,089 posts)whose whole message during that rant/speech last week was "I will keep you safe."
He's just torpedoed that argument.
The freaking guy will say anything to try to swing the media in his direction during the campaign. The folks at the convention have basically been ignoring him and putting out a wonderfully positive message for the most part. IMO that drives this piece of garbage crazy so he said this for attention. What scum.
I'm not sure how you handle this if your HRC/DNC. I'm sure they'll come up with a good approach.
