Pilgrim’s Pride expands recall of cooked chicken products

WACO, Texas Pilgrims Pride is expanding a 5 million pound recall that federal food safety regulators say includes a variety of chicken products potentially contaminated with foreign materials.
Fridays announcement is the second expansion of a recall that began in April after the largest poultry producer in the U.S. received consumer complaints regarding plastic contamination of chicken nuggets, according the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The agency said there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to eating the products.
Consumers are still urged to throw away or return the products. Food inspectors have previously announced finding items such as wood, plastic, rubber and metal.
The latest recall involves products produced in 2015 between May 6 and Dec. 3. Affected products include boxes and bags of various Green Dragon and Sweet Georgia Brand fully cooked chicken products, with a variety of packaging and use-by and sell-by dates.

But we don't need any stinking regulators! It's all a democratic plot to steal your money.

(3,447 posts)Not a problem if you believe that each person should take care of themselves and others immediately near (ie, the 'traditional' method of life before, oh, say 1900 or so), but a huge problem if you seriously think you're going to 'vote' for 'freedom' for the 'most people'. It is physically impossible to be free when you can't even secure your own resources.
Perhaps if murderous corporations were treated as murderous people were, there would be a change. Alternately, people could stop trusting processed food and grow/obtain their own. But since responsibility is too hard, sure, let's slap some more regulations on there. I'm SURE they would have been followed. You know...just like the current regulations that say something to the effect of "Hey dipshit, don't put rubber, wood, and metal in the chicken nuggets."
