I asked how long it would be before we are buying (or in my case, not buying) 1 oz. cans? The lady said "Oh sir, we mostly removed water." I told her I wasn't buying it. Her story or her tuna. Funny how when it happens, it happens industry-wide. Same with teabags, used to be 24, overnight it became 20.

Prices will go up. That's a given. So knowing that the retailer wants to sell the tea at $3.99 a box, the retailer will probably absorb the first nickel or so in cost per box. But assuming the wholesale is 50%, when the price goes up a dime per box, the retailer doesn't want to price it at $4.19 or $4.25. So the compromise is to reduce the size of the boxes and keep the same price point or maybe even lower it. Initially, that 20 bag box of tea was probably less but then it inched up. I think Walmart is the only store that has prices like $3.86.

At least Bigelow sent me a coupon for a free box to shut me up, but I had to listen to their idiotic excuse: "Our customers told us they wanted more conveeeeeenient packaging." How insulting!

No fish or seafood from the Pacific. Too much radioactive cesium and strontium in it for my tastes.

Is this offshore canning an issue. Even in this country after so much time the plant just gets worn, dirty and the costs of maintenance increasing not really factored into the corporate bargain meant to close American factories.

I heard about the Bumble Bee but hadn't heard that Chicken of the Sea was added to the recall.

Just checked the one can I have. The date and lot code doesn't match.
