Attorney General Promises 'Independent' Review Of Clinton Email Case

Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Wednesday promised that any Justice Department review of possible criminal charges connected to Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified information would be “independent," without regard to politics or outside influence.

While a recommendation from the FBI about how to proceed could be months away, Lynch promised House lawmakers that the Justice Department’s course of action will be guided by the law alone.

“That matter is being handled by career independent law enforcement agents — FBI agents — as well as career independent attorneys in the Department of Justice,” Lynch told a House Appropriations subcommittee. “They follow the evidence, they look at the law and they’ll make a recommendation to me when the time is appropriate.”

“This will be conducted as every other case, and we will review all the facts and all the evidence and come to an independent conclusion as to how to handle it,” she maintained.

Lynch Non-Committal On Clinton Email Prosecution

By Josh Gerstein

Attorney General Loretta Lynch declined Wednesday to discuss how she would make a decision about whether to prosecute Democratic presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over classified information found on her private email server.

However, Lynch did say the investigation and the Justice Department's review of the matter would follow the usual process and procedure for such matters.

"This will be conducted as every other case and we will review all the facts and all the evidence and come to an independent conclusion as to how to best handle it," Lynch said during a House Appropriations Committee hearing Wednesday morning.

Rep. John Carter (R-Texas) told Lynch that some of his constituents wanted him to raise the issue with her because they were concerned that the probe might be tainted by politics.

"If the FBI makes the case that Hillary Clinton mishandled classified information and put America's security at risk, will you prosecute the case? Do you know of any efforts underway to undermine the FBI investigation," Carter asked.

Hillary will be fully exonerated sooner rather than later. No way in hell the presumptive democratic nominee is charged under a sitting democratic president. It would be political suicide for our party in an election year, worse than what happened in the Nixon fallout to the republicans.
President Obama is not going to hand this election to Trump with a self inflicted wound.

If the FBI recommends an indictment, that will come out. Either through the current administration, or as a leak to the press in September.

the proxy will make whatever accusations fit the plan, and Trump will only refer to them tangentially in debates but rely heavily on them in campaign stumping

HRC better be ready with a really nice counter on this topic. pointing out a lack of indictment is NOT going to be enough, it's going to have to be something slick that simultaneously wrecks the proxy and can spread fast enough to prevent general acceptance among the electorate. this will be a real measure of what the Democratic party learned from the 2004 swiftboating episode.

Either the FBI or other investigators not tied to the Democratic party will ask for an indictment or the process will stretch out. If an indictment is requested that will become public knowledge. If an indictment then is not forthcoming, the Democrats will lose bigtime.

Obama is not going to risk his place in history by protecting Hillary. If any investigating group asks for an indictment, they will get one and Hillary will go on trial.

Some people think this is all about nothing or they act like it isn't even happening.

But, tell me this, when was the last time a Presidential candidate was under investigation by the FBI while campaigning for the White House?

I'll eat my hat if anyone can name a candidate from any party that was being investigated by the FBI while they were running for the office of the Presidency.
