Transgender Girl Scout stands up to bully who wouldn’t buy cookies ‘from a boy in a dress’
Source: Washington Post
Nine-year-old Stormi set out last month to sell cookies just like every other Girl Scout with a sales pitch and a goal.
I like to sell cookies because its very nice to sell cookies, she told BuzzFeed News. Cookies, she said, make people smile.
But when Stormi, who is transgender, started knocking on neighbors doors near her home in Herrin, Ill., one man turned her away, saying: Nobody wants to buy cookies from a boy in a dress.
It made me sad, Stormi told BuzzFeed News. Because Im a girl.

(28,498 posts)Rarely could I pass a Girl Scouts' cookie table without picking up a box or two!
But unfortunately, I too have given up processed foods & added sugars. Gotta keep the carb count as low as possible.

(6,045 posts)for most of my life & never had to worry about carbs but then I suffered a spinal cord injury in 2003. After a few years my metabolism crashed & I gained so much weight because I had no way of exercising effectively. So I tried the fad diets like the "Atkins Diet" & I lost a lot of weight fast but I gained it all back & much more after a year or so. Then I was reading about how many of the NFL players & professional soccer players were going Vegan or "Vegan Lite" still eating some seafood & chicken but cutting out all processed foods, added sugars, dairy, red meats, etc., & how much better they felt after making the change. So, I decided I had to make the change & after a little over 3yrs now I have lost 95lbs from 5'9" 240lbs to 145lbs without exercising & I feel so much better! People don't believe me when I tell them but it can be done. However, I am lucky because there is not really any food I don't like so switching over was not very hard for me personally. Plus, YouTube is packed with so many video recipes.
