LePage says he might skip State of the State speech

Source: Bangor Daily News

Gov. Paul LePage said Tuesday morning during a live radio interview that he might deliver this years State of the State address in a letter rather than addressing the House and Senate in person, as is custom.

The highly anticipated State of the State address is usually held in the first week or two of February when the entire Legislature, Cabinet members and the Maine Supreme Judicial Court gather in the Maine House.

LePage was asked about the timing of the event this morning during his weekly appearance on WVOM.

I dont know, said the governor. Its going to be some time but its probably going to go back to the 1800s and Ill do it by letter. Why am I going to go up and face people and talk to them in an audience that just a week or two before, theyre trying to impeach me? Thats just silliness. Ill send them a letter and well call it a day.

1. Seems to be the trend when you are a GOPer gov in trouble

Ours in Kansas was tonight, was not televised, was only covered by radio when the online stream failed. He (Brownback) blamed Obama and Planned Parenthood for everything that had gone wrong, quoted some Bible verses, and called it a day. Twitter was lit up like a Christmas Tree pointing out his lies.

2. You vote for Republicans, you get Republicans and Republican policies

Maine elected this turd, then re-elected him.

Ohio elected Kasich, then re-elected him

New Jersey elected Christie, then the Democrats threw their candidate under the bus and NJ re-elected him.

Wisconsin elected, failed to recall then re-elected Walker.

Michigan elected and re-elected Snyder

Florida elected and reelected Scott.

North Carolina elected and re-elected Haley

Oklahoma elected and reelected Fallin

Texas elected and re-elected Bush, then Perry, now Abbott.

Arizona (my state) elected and reelected Brewer, then Doucey.

I am failing to have sympathy for one anywhere.

7. As a Mainer who did *not* vote for LePage,

not once and not twice, I am a little irritated by your dismissal of progressives living in states that are suffering under crappy Conservative "leadership." Here, the Liberal vote was divided both times by an Independent candidate, Elliot Cutler, who refused to back out last time despite the fact that his running gave us LePage by less than 50% of the vote, significantly less. Do you also consider the entire South to be racist and everybody living in Texas to be a root 'n' toot, shoot-em-up cowboy redneck? Curious.

9. i just look at voting returns. If people wanted LePage out so badly, the independent

wouldn't have mattered. Progressives would have been united behind one candidate.

I will not fall for the bait of those last question. It is flamebait and I will not dignify it with a response.
