ISIS Speaks Out on San Bernardino Shooting
Dec 5, 2015 7:00 AM EST
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria's official radio station has aired a statement saying the mass shooting in California was carried out by two "supporters" of the extremist group.
While praising the attack, the group stopped short of claiming responsibility for it. The Al-Bayan report Saturday echoed a claim carried Friday by the ISIS-affiliated Aamaq news agency.
The radio report did not refer to Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik as actual members of ISIS. Militants affiliated with ISIS who carry out attacks are commonly referred to in the group's propaganda as "lions," ''fighters" or "mujahedeen."

(1,145 posts)because the US media and the security industry benefits from tying this to the war on terror.
What has become increasingly clear in regards to the international war going on in Syria is that ISIS has the de facto backing of NATO (Turkey, who's led by a right-wing Islamist) and the Gulf monarchies - ISIS is supported by the US coalition because they are waging our undeclared war against the Syrian government.
In order to justify the continued routing of billions and billions of our tax dollars into police militarization, the gun and weapons manufacturers (all of whom have seen their stocks surge recently), the fascistic "Department of Homeland Security", and other aspects of an outright police state, we're going to be told that the San Bernardino attackers were affiliated with the group we're told we're fighting a war against in Syria (and we should be smart enough to know now that we haven't hardly been trying to stop ISIS, just "contain" them).
We don't know why these people shot up the facility in San Bernardino because they're dead. The FBI and other law enforcement agencies can tell us any damn thing they want and they expect us to just believe because they said so (and that works for the majority of people I guess). Go ahead and call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but you can't deny the logic.

Our law enforcement agencies have a hard time telling the truth and I'm just not buying this ISIS connection.

(1,145 posts)linking them to ISIS (maybe a signed copy of the ISIS leader's book next) and we can't forget the indestructible passports that all terrorists seem required to carry with them during their missions (like the 19 unblemished passports we found on those 9/11 hijackers). I'm guessing this is requirement laid out in the official Terrorist Handbook?
Use your brain and think.

(1,145 posts)Why would ISIS want to attack the US when we've been supporting their actions in Syria and Iraq and backing the countries who provide them money and weapons?
Surely you've paid enough attention to know that we haven't really been trying to destroy ISIS and that our ramping up of interest in fighting them is only because the Russians stepped in and actually starting killing them?
You are aware that ISIS is fighting to overthrow the Syrian government, something our leaders have been repeating over and over again for years? Does it make sense to you that ISIS would really want to attack the people who want them to succeed?
I don't think you know enough about what's happening to comment intelligently on this matter my man.

(92,058 posts)The reason we haven't committed full resources and troops in Syria is NOT because of our support of ISIL, but because of the chaos and different factions involved within Syria would make it very difficult if not impossible to be successful. That is why the approach is to try to provide a strategy of bringing allies and governments in the middle east together to fight the Islamic state.
As for elements in Saudi Arabia supporting ISIS, that isn't with our support. In addition, ISIS is Suni, and Iran is Shia, and our negotiated settlement on nuclear proliferation with Iran wasn't what ISIS wanted. In fact ISIS and Iran are enemies.
Without going further into the mess that is the middle east, my original point stands, the perpetrators of the San Bernardino slaughter's sympathies, at their own admission is with the Islamic state. You can believe whatever you want
Every single Democratic candidate running for President believes ISIS needs to be stopped.

(35,270 posts)Handy, that.
In this case the US, the attackers, and IS all have the same story. But to hold on to pre-formed narrative, they must all be lying. Either you're wrong, or everybody else is. The problem is the default assumption, I suspect.

(1,145 posts)All of these state bureaucracies have a vested interest in keeping the terrorism threat alive and vibrant because it brings them increased funding (military gear for police departments, increased gun sales, increased stock prices for weapons manufacturers and more sales of their weapons to foreign governments, the clearing out of uncooperative foreign heads of state who stand in the way of big business profits, mainly oil and energy resources, etc.).
Like I said, the FBI and media can tell us anything they want, true or false, and we have no independent way of verifying what they've told. I personally don't believe much they say because maintaining this threat is something they want and they'll say and do anything to keep it going.
What's there not to understand, William? Let me know specifics on your confusion if you still don't get what I'm saying and I'll be happy to elaborate further.

(3,212 posts)This couple was running from LE in a rented SUV and shooting at LE. And I'm pretty darn sure that all the weaponry and ammunition found in the vehicle was observed by enough people on the spot that it could not have been planted after the fact.
And I'm pretty darn sure they were extremist Muslims since she wore a burqa and her own brother-in-law had never even seen her face!
And I'm pretty sure I believe the survivors who identified the male terrorist as the shooter.
It's not rocket science.

(1,333 posts)has been doing all it can to draw the west into the war. They know full well that if the west comes in, they would be going after the Syrian govt first. From spectacular taped beheading of EU and American journalists before they even started their bombing campaign in Syria to taking responsibility for every terror attack that happened in the West.
This is why I still do not support any intervention in Syria by the west cos they are being setup by ISIS to do just that which they really want i.e. for someone to come in and take out the Secular Syrian govt.

(1,145 posts)because the politicians are afraid to take on the NRA.
It's also important to note that the NRA is not an organization designed to defend whatever gun rights are laid out in the Second Amendment, but they are basically a big lobbying group for the gun industry. It's all about keeping the gun makers profitable because they are literally making a killing off of our fear and the massive gun violence in the US, state sanctioned or not.
