US House blocks carbon emission rules, Obama to veto
Source: Yahoo7 News / AFP
Washington (AFP) - US House Republicans voted Tuesday to block President Barack Obama's regulations on reducing greenhouse gas emissions -- a move certain to spark his veto -- as negotiators work on a global climate deal in Paris.
The two measures, rolling back the Environmental Protection Agency's new emission rules for power plants, passed the chamber largely along party lines.
The so-called disapproval resolutions, which already passed the Republican-controlled Senate, dealt a largely symbolic yet blunt rebuke to Obama, who attended the start of a major UN climate summit in the French capital.
The White House has said Obama would veto the resolutions and Congress does not appear to have sufficient votes to override the veto.

How can this be wrong? I also wonder how many metric tons of aquifer polluting fertilizer this is going to save us?

(62,497 posts)as my above comment points out, it gets hotter as well. Not wet heat, but dry heat, thus killing off any "benefit" you try to point at by having additional co2 in the air.

(16,371 posts)The issue is global warming, melting glaciers,j drought, floods, famine, resource wars, mass migration, depleted and defunct ground water. Say goodbye to lowlands like Florida and a good deal of the eastern seaboard. California fruits and veggies in the winter? Forget about it. In fact, between endless drought, rising seas and gigantic firestorm up and down the west coast, you might as well say bye bye to California altogether. But those cute little plants in your animation are gonna do just fine (as long as they're not underwater, of course. )

(62,497 posts)while their will be more CO2; the temperatures will go up and kill the plant due to heat.
