Retiring Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.) is among the 17 Americans who next week will be awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.

The longest-serving woman in the history of Congress, Mikulski is being honored for her work on equal pay for women, science research and funding, health care and college affordability, the White House said.

5. This is a nice thread. I read that Martin O'Malley

had said last spring that he wouldn't run for her seat. Yet the run for the presidency might have polished up his brand. Just wondering. In any case, supposedly the Dems have the upper hand, and it sounds like you'll have a pretty good selection to choose among there.
