Steven Tyler Sends Donald Trump Cease and Desist Over Campaign Use of ‘Dream On’

Source: TheWrap

"Tyler is a registered Republican and attended the GOP debate in August.

In a statement to TheWrap, his attorney said the issue is about getting permission, not politics.

“This is not a political nor personal issue with Mr. Trump, Steven works tirelessly with both Republicans and Democrats regarding copyright reform and his position has always been consistent regarding copyright and intellectual property,” Dina LaPolt said."

I find 3 three things odd about this.

1) Once again the GOP seems to have no understanding or respect for copyright law

2) Dream On seems like an odd choice for a campaign theme.

3) Steven Tyler is a Republican. But then, he did do a LOT of drugs.

You'd think as much as they love Dumbass McShitPants they'd use his music all the time instead of swiping other people's music.

Such as Jailbait - which is where Pants Shit Fever said he would be now if the President got re-elected (or six feet under).

They don't want their music in anyway associated with the republicans. I remember many years ago the republican party was trying to appeal to young people. They were trying to find a young actor or musical celebrity republican to help make the republican party appear cool.

How would they pick a completely inappropriate song if they didn't pick one that actually had some meaning to it? That's no fun!

I know Bill Maher calls Rick Santorum "Christ-ee McSweaterVest. Jon Stewart claims that Donald Trump's name on his birth certificate (probably the long form) us "Fuckface Von ". In any case, I will remember Dumbass McShitPants FOREVER!

Nazareth, Ted Nugent, Lynyrd Skynyryd and Aerosmith.

I was up close and people very close were pulling themselves up by their fingers on the wooden barrier so they could see. Security thugs were banging those people's hands with metal hammers. This went on throughout their set. I distinctly remember him seeing this guy's hand get smashed and laughing about it It disturbed me for a long time. Maybe it was the alcohol and drugs, and I hope he is a changed individual. I know he has been to rehab and '76 was alcohol and drugs gone wild. Everyone in that place, myself included, was drunk and stoned to the moon.

As a '76 high school graduate, I loved their music. But being a very talented and creative musician does not mean you are a nice person.

Oh, that's right - hanging 16 year olds for downloading the same music the Republicans are "pirating" and using for profit. At least the "napster group" didn't make money on their pirating, which evidently is ok with the RIAA so long as you're a Republican.

Somebody please explain why it's crime as a common American to dl or even buy Tyler's song and play it (without copyright owner's consent) for profit yet just fine with the RIAA when politicians or corporations do it.

Kids have been fined thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars for doing what Sump Trump and Cat Scatch Huckabee and other law ignoring Republicans have done and are doing.
