Pro-Clinton Groups Raised More than $24 million in Second Quarter
Source: Wall Street Journal
Three independent groups supporting Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton raised more than $24 million in the second quarter, backed by megadonors George Soros, Hollywood producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, and longtime Clinton donor Haim Saban, according to two officials with the groups.
Priorities USA Action, the primary super PAC backing Mrs. Clinton, raised $15.6 million in the second quarter, according to an email sent to interested parties by Guy Cecil, the groups chief strategist. He noted that $12.5 million of that came in the last four weeks, since a shakeup.
That shakeup included replacing Buffy Wicks, a veteran field organizer for President Barack Obama, with Mr. Cecil, a longtime Democratic operative who worked for Mrs. Clintons 2008 campaign and is seen by donors as closer to the Clinton campaign.
Messrs. Soros, Katzenberg and Saban were among Prioritiess donors. Mr. Saban, a longtime Clinton backer, gave $2 million.

Check this out:
Yesterday was the second biggest day in ActBlue history ($4.6 million raised for Democrats and progressives!), and a huge win for small-dollar donors. But Republicans emailed their supporters saying that we're "flaunting it."

Subject: This is ridiculous.
Friend - We thought you should see this:
The Obama machine has been raising boatloads of cash for Democrats and they're FLAUNTING IT.
This isn't good, Friend.
Today is the last day of the month we only have a few hours left before we hit our reporting deadline.
If we don't step it up now, Democrats' fundraising bonanza could propel them to victory in 2016. There is too much at stake this election cycle. We can't afford to lose.

P.S. -- Seems clear that "flaunting it" is a thinly veiled reference to our rainbow logo. C'mon GOP! Move on!

(1,668 posts)She's going to use it for TV ads, and since a large part of the population on both sides of the political spectrum already finds her annoyingly disingenuous, having her face plastered all over television for months with her phoney stories is only going to raise more bile.

(30,656 posts)How unprecedented! Candidates never do that.
Can you provide some links about how many consider her annoyingly disingenuous, or have you looked at her leads over all other candidates?
Her face plastered all over television? This, from the same group who is whining about Bernie's lack of media exposure?

I see more bile from the Bernie supporters on DU than anyone else.
