ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A federal judge is hearing testimony regarding a request by Royal Dutch Shell PLC for a preliminary injunction to try to prevent Greenpeace activists from boarding Arctic-bound drilling equipment.

U.S. District Judge Sharon Gleason granted Shell a restraining order April 11 to keep Greenpeace from entering a safety zone around a semi-submersible drill rig, the Polar Pioneer.
