Suspicious: Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), hinted
that the Colombian prostitutes could be Russian spies
[/font]
Even as President Obama has labelled the Secret Servicemen embroiled in the Colombian prostitute scandal as ‘knuckleheads,’ Sen. Chuck Grassley suggested there may be more than meets the eye to the alleged sex workers.

Speaking to Radio Iowa, Sen. Grassley hinted that the women in question could be Russian spies.

He said: ‘We’re looking at something that is very, very serious when national security might not be protected properly.’

The senator continued: ‘Who knows who might be using prostitutes? The Russians are famous for that to get information out of us.’

4. He just looks like a regular ol' common right wing nazi to me.

Not nearly as nefarious as a THRUSH agent.

And I can't help but wonder what wealth of secret information his lame mind thinks that the Secret Service Detail had in them to be coerced by a little poon tang into giving up, anyway? Having a secret clearance does not mean that a person is automatically privy to all secret information retained by our government. After a person is granted a clearance, they also have to have a "need to know" concerning any information that is divulged to them. I would guess that at best, all that that Secret Service Detain was privy to was specific information regarding the travel plans for President Obama. And at best, knowing that information would be useful only to an entity that wanted to do him harm.

Excuse me for being so naive, but I do not think for a second that the Russians have any interest at all in doing away with President Obama. They know only too well what the outcome for them will be if President Obama gets eliminated and is replaced by someone from the right wing of our government, say a Newt Getricher, or a Rick Unsanitorum, or god forbid a Mitt Romney, perish the thought. On the contrary, I can easily imagine the KGB doing everything in it's power to tip our Secret Service guys off to any plot information regarding the longevity of our president's life that they may be aware of.

Again, the words of a Bob Dylan song come to mind.

I've learned to hate the Russians
All through my whole life.
If another war comes,
It's them we must fight.
To hate them and fear them,
To run and to hide.
But you never ask questions
When God's on your side.

Owww, I do love a good sarcastic lyric in the morning!

Upon edit for syntax

8. While he may well have watched too much "Man from U.N.C.L.E"

he has a point. The problem is putting oneself in a position where one's mission is compromised. I think it would have been much more likely for a drug lord to have used the sex workers to strike a blow at our President.

Grassley and representative Steve King they seem determined to prove that the name Iowa is indeed an acronym.I'm convinced you have to try real hard to be that clueless.

Clandestine.
As in, don't call the police after and create a global media feeding frenzy. No exactly conducive, though I suppose the goal could have been to make us look silly.

I agree with customerserviceguy. It doesn't matter that the activity was legal in Colombia. It could well have been a security breach. This transcends elections. I'm inclined to think more in terms of the Chinese, though.

Think about it.

If there were even a possibility of that, it would be pretty irresponsible for a US Senator to talk about it. Election year crap. Or he's even more stupid than previously thought.

Stop stirring the pot of nonsense in an election year. What information would the Russians want from us? They already stole all our secrets decades ago.

they were allowed to run for office. I mean I had to take such tests for jobs that required a certain minimal intelligence and mental stability before there was even a consideration of hiring me.
