George Zimmerman wants meeting with Martin family, new judge assigned

Source: Bay News 9

SANFORD --

George Zimmerman wants to meet with Trayvon Martin's parents.

During a one-on-one interview Wednesday, attorney Mark O'Mara revealed Zimmerman wants to meet with the family of the 17-year-old he shot and killed in February.

O'Mara did not explain why his client wants the meeting, but said is that if it were to happen, it would be private -- just Zimmerman and Trayvon's parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton.

"I've talked a couple of times about the conversation that, hopefully, will occur directly to the Martin family, a private conversation," said O'Mara. "To the community, I think he would just say don't prejudge him."

In the weeks leading up to April 11, when Zimmerman was arrested for second-degree murder, O'Mara said his client was in hiding. The worldwide attention and high emotion attached to the Trayvon Martin shooting made him and his family fear for their safety.

O'Mara said many people have already made up their minds about the night Trayvon Martin was killed. That's why he has not ruled out the case could be tried outside Central Florida

The father, the brother, and Georgie have all made remarks that aren't holding up, according to the 'tale of the tape.' George wasn't screaming, he didn't get his nose broken, the teen didn't punch him--his entire story is bullshit and he has no problems with letting his family lie for him.

he will apologize profusely so they don't fight the plea bargain (maybe not legally but in the court of public opinion). If I were them I wouldn't do it.

I do question Zimmerman's motives at this time. Had he been distressed about the shooting, he would have tried to contacted the family before he was arrested.

This does sound like he's going to try that. Murder 2 can be life. Manslaughter will have him trotting down the lane in as little as five year in some places.

Trayvon's parents have acted with dignity and restraint. They have decided to stop speaking about the issue completely, now that Zimmerman has been arrested.

were his mother. My name ISN'T SYBRINA FULTON! I don't pretend to speak for his poor mother and father but it is MY OPINION AND THE KNOWLEDGE that I wouldn't feel particularly charitable toward zimmy.. Sorry.

Oh and, I would have a problem that suddenly, once he was arrested, he would want to speak to me, nearly 2 months later, after denigrating my son and dragging his name through the mud.

"We believe Zimmerman's request at this time is very self-serving some 50 days later, the day before his bond hearing," Crump said. "He had a Web page — never apologized there. Had the voicemails we've heard — never apologized then. So, we feel that you all can conclude for yourselves what motivations there are."

with a long prison term.

So I'm guessing that the bastard thinks this will play to his advantage in some way. Otherwise, why did he wait until now to talk to them? Could have done it before he was charged, easily.

Between this, and trying to talk to the prosecutor directly, calling Sean Hannity and the like, it appears that he thinks he can talk his way out of anything.

moron.
