1. I was watching Thom Hartmann and

he said when calling representatives, make it quick and to the point. He said they get tons of messages that are minutes long. They only keep tabs on whether you are in favor of a particular bill and don’t really take in account your reasons. So calling is important to voice your yes or no to the vote but your reasons don’t really matter to them. At least that what I got from him saying this.

But be sure to send emails, too, and therein you can expound a bit. Personally, I told mine that I was getting tired of writing every week, begging them not to kill me.

3. I could only leave messages since their mailboxes were full

but I did have the chance to say, "I am begging you not to do this. It will bankrupt my 83 year old parents, myself and makes our healthcare unaffordable and we will all die due to this". I was practically in tears since it is true.
