People pay the most attention to the idea that users will be charged more for faster access or have to pay a la carte depending on which sites they visit. If that happened it would only affect users in the US.

But arguably the bigger danger from the end of net neutrality would be ISPs charging the content providers (websites like DU, Netflix, Google, etc) to access their users. Want your content to be delivered to the end users at the best possible speed and not be artificially throttled? You would have to pay each individual ISP for that privilege.

This will make it nearly impossible for new companies to compete and will only further entrench the existing internet monopolies, which is something that will affect the whole world.
