I Wonder if Trump & his supporters know Nixon didnt break into Watergate

I keep hearing from Trump and his supporters on the right that there was "no collusion" and the investigation needs to begin to prove there was collusion. Now I'm in my early 30's and Watergate has always been "ancient history" to me, but from what I have always heard, I'm not sure, at least its never been proven, that Nixon knew about or ordered the break in. What he was eventually brought down on was the cover up and obstruction of the investigation. Watching the investigation and subsequent Trump admin actions, I find it hard to believe that there aren't impeachable offenses going on in the west wing. The difference, and this is WAAAAYY worse than Watergate, is that there is much of an entire political party and multiple media entities that are assisting in the obstruction.

It was nasty stuff, to be sure, but everything that happened in Watergate was domestic, from the break-in of the DNC to the coverup. This time we have a presidential campaign colluding with a hostile power to win a U.S. election, continuing collusion with that power, and now, of course, the coverup.

I am old enough to remember Watergate; I remember it very well. For those of you who don't (and even those who do), please see "All the President's Men." Better yet, read the book by Woodward and Bernstein.

I borrowed "All the Presidents Men" from my dad. One of the things that stood out to me was early on they made an error and ran an incorrect story and the admin pounced on it calling it irresponsible and blasted the paper. Sounded very familiar to me.

during that investigation. Nixon wanted to claim executive privilege over nearly every aspect of the Watergate investigation. He did not get his way.

Bear that in mind, 45.
