Schiff on CNN talking about attempts to shut down Mueller.
He's horrified at how Republicans, especially in the House are trying to shut down Mueller in defense of Trump.

1. It has often amazed me that there are no particular qualifications
for becoming a member of the House of Representatives. It attracts some of the dumbest, weirdest, most iniquitous people in the entire U.S. They say cream rises to the top, but so does scum.

5. Joe Scum laid into them this morning. He scattergunned them all but probably should have zoned in
on that tool Jordan, in particular.

6. Yup... but it would leave you aghast if you could see an educational level & qualification summary
for state houses across the country. Of course there is dramatic variation, but that's the point. More states than you would ever guess have a significant number of state representatives that have only a high school degree/GED OR LESS.
Before I get "beat up" for saying that, I certainly have known any number of older people whose knowledge from real life experience impressed the hell out of me. But, I think that is the exception, rather than the rule. |

7. It isn't just a matter of education. There are some people
in both the state and federal legislatures who are well-educated but are nevertheless some combination of stupid, evil and crazy. Exhibit A: Louis Gohmert, probably the dumbest guy in the House, has a law degree. Exhibit B: Roy Moore, who was a judge and nearly became a senator. Exhibit C: Michelle Bachmann, who also went to law school (although that was Oral Roberts U., not exactly Harvard). Exhibit D: Trey Gowdy, the pointy-headed congressman, who used to be a prosecutor. And on and on....

8. True that and look how many absolutely STUPID physicians there are
e.g., Rand Paul
(formerly Tom Price) Bill Cassidy John Barrasso Tom Coburn Phil Gingrey and others... not to mention the illustrious "neurosurgeon" (geebus unbelievable to me) Ben Carson Yes, certainly education does not ensure thoughtful, thinking, legislators--at all |

2. Amazed? Really?
He's "Surprised" that his FRIENDS across the aisle are behaving this way?
Is anybody here on DU surprised? I'd guess that people here expect this kind of thing from the other side. Why are the Democrats always so "SHOCKED" when the repubs behave the way they normally do? |
