Before I get "beat up" for saying that, I certainly have known any number of older people whose knowledge from real life experience impressed the hell out of me. But, I think that is the exception, rather than the rule.

Exhibit A: Louis Gohmert, probably the dumbest guy in the House, has a law degree. Exhibit B: Roy Moore, who was a judge and nearly became a senator. Exhibit C: Michelle Bachmann, who also went to law school (although that was Oral Roberts U., not exactly Harvard). Exhibit D: Trey Gowdy, the pointy-headed congressman, who used to be a prosecutor. And on and on....
