My FB discussion with a fellow Lefty

I think this exemplifies our split.

I'm still waiting for a response.

He favors Al's resignation.

1. A "moral" proceeding?

No, simply mob justice.

3. This is what it looks like in Alabama right now with Moore

The righties are screaming that Moore is being railroaded and that the allegations smell to high heaven. They are yelling about innocent until proven guilty.

Living here in the great red state of Alabama, I hear the argument daily that the Republicans should stand by Roy and not let the Dems take him down because he is a good, honorable Christian man.

I'm lining up in agreement with your FB friend.

4. I am calling for hearings and fact finding

He is calling for moral "mob rule".
That's how I see it.

7. I don't see it that way

But I hear you.

I'm saying that from 10000 feet up the arguments from both sides seem similar. Everyone is convinced that the other side is manufacturing the accusations. It is hard for Democrats to say "of course we aren't manufacturing accusations regarding Moore, but you damn well bet the accusations toward Franken are manufactured!"

Should Al resign? Probably not yet but if any of these accusations are true then he should. The moral high ground is necessary to maintain. We can't say that we believe women but just not women who accuse our favorite politicians. If so, we lose in the long run.

With Al resigning or saying he will resign, it takes away the "you've got the problem too" line and shows that Democrats take womens' voices seriously.

I understand the anger but I'm ok with the Dems taking a hard line right now.

5. Not trying to tell you your business. But I would cover up the other person's face. Unless

they're cool with being pasted on other forums like that.
