It's a technical violation...

You'll hear this more and more as the investigation rolls on. But it's a lie and it's bullshit-if there is a law, and the law spells out the elements of a crime and the law specifies a penalty than there is simple guilt or innocence. You cannot merely "technically" murder or rob or steal or maim. Perhaps the Hatch Act and the Logan Act are underused and under prosecuted but I assure you that a felony is a felony under law no matter what a talking head says.

1. That's the next level of the strategy

First, it was denial of all charges. Then as the evidence trickles in and starts piling up, it's that nothing is proved. Then a couple of indictments are unsealed, a couple of guilty pleas are received, and then it's not like a real crime has been committed. Then some serious felony charges come down, and it's just a "technical" violation, a little oversight anyone could make, like someone having to amend his sworn financial disclosures a few dozen times.

When the witch hunt keeps turning up real witches, it's something to be taken seriously. At least if you care about the country and its good governance. Which means we won't be looking for any help from our Republican friends.
