Thread for condolences for those affected by today's shooting murders

To all affected, those who were killed or injured, their friends and families, to all put in fear or anger or sorrow, to all of us trying to make sense out of a senseless act. My condolences.

I have no desire to argue about this, but wanted to check in and say I am sorry, my sympathies to you all and us all.

My condolences to all who were victimized by this violence. Early this morning I kept thinking how excited all those kids must have been and how they were just having a fun summer outing.

And then their world is ripped apart. None who surivived will ever be the same.

My heart goes out to them and to all across the globe who deal with this type of terror every day.

May all of us find PEACE.

world, could it happen to me? It happened to friends of my child recently. Now it has happened to these people. And it really pisses me off as well as saddens me.

out of you to take her to one of these midnight showings because her friends will be there and it's quite the social event. You loath the very thought of it. What parents wants to attend a midnight movie full of adolescents or pick a bunch of them up at 2am? You do it because you love your kids. How could you expect something like this to happen? You shouldn't have to, goddammit. My condolence to everyone who is suffering because of this. It shouldn't happen, and we damn well need to make sure it never happens again!

I'm amazed at how this has affected me. I feel so bad for all those people I see - the anguished survivors talking about what they'd just experienced. How shattering it was. Imagine being one of them. Soon enough you'd find yourself thinking - why was that baby killed and I survived. It could have been me. I was that close. Imagine being that girl who talked at length about having his gun directly in her face for five seconds. Imagine carrying that around with you. It'd probably be a long time before I ever got a good night's sleep again, if something like that happened to me.

My heart goes out to them. Dear God.

I hope they get all the help they need, putting their lives and their heads back together - and they're the "lucky ones" who didn't get killed or sent to the hospital. I hope those who lost friends and loved ones can heal - although I realize that's a wound that never closes completely. It always leaves a hole.

I hope that community can heal.
