Private Joe Bauers, the definition of "average American", is selected by the Pentagon to be the guinea pig for a top-secret hibernation program. Forgotten, he awakes five centuries in the future. He discovers a society so incredibly dumbed down that he's easily the most intelligent person alive.

This film is one of the most sarcastic, ironic and truly funny movies. almost a "cult" film..A fellow of just average intelligence becomes the world's most intelligent person in a world five centuries into the future. Because of some easily understood information that the movie gives, the whole world has dumbed down to a level of maybe 50 IQ..I enjoyed it, and I think everyone here will..And yes, you can take the film any way, seriously or as a comedy..it is still enjoyable...
