Republicans are adding removal of insurance mandate
This is on top of many other heartless measures to shovel money to those sitting on piles of it.
At this point.. I wonder if this is a stunt on bill destined to fail.. Or is it time for us to freak out.

1. I'm missing something here.
Why is it heartless to stop mandating that people buy something whether they want or can afford it?

4. If you dont understand why the mandate is the main pillar holding up Obamacare
then I question whether you belong on DU.
I am not trying to get personal here. I understand the libertarian angle to it. But short of a medicare for all - a free market approach for risk sharing only works when there is mass participation. And this is not a question I expect on DU. The move is heartless as removing mandate threatens the viability of the insurance markets for individuals. Do you understand what does to someone with a child that many have lupus, sickle cell anemia or multiple sclerosis? |

6. Charming response to a legitimate question. And I do take it personally.
Whatever. Apparently my 40+ years of senior employment in a related field leaves me with some sort of a lack of understanding of the industry.
Or you could have just given context to your initial statement. Have a nice day. |

2. New Math....
Start with a tax cut plan mainly for the rich that actually increases taxes for many middle class voters. Polling shows it is a bust.
Add.... An Obamacare repeal much like the one voted down last Summer, would cost millions of Americans their health care, raise premiums, and polled in the teens. And you add tpgether two horrible bills, both of which are extremely unpopular, and they think this is a winning proposition? What is sad is that in a twisted way, this may actually pass.... UGH..... Two Wrongs = 1 Right? bullshit |
