The Penn State hazing scandal is really exploding.

Despite the frantic efforts by the frat boys to cover up their crimes.

I mean, the dead guy was given 18 drinks, in an hour and a half?

What kind of asshole considers this to be a 'fun event?"

Video recovered, 10 more charged in Penn State frat death

(AP) - Newly recovered security camera footage from inside a Penn State fraternity house showed a pledge had been given at least 18 drinks in less than 90 minutes, investigators said Monday in announcing dozens of new charges related to the pledge’s death.

Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller charged 10 new defendants, reinstated charges against two people whose cases had been dropped and added counts against five who had previously been charged for actions surrounding the Feb. 4 death of Beta Theta Pi pledge Tim Piazza. One fraternity member is accused of deleting the video as police were seeking the footage.
Twenty-six people now face charges in the case.

Piazza, a 19-year-old engineering student from Lebanon, New Jersey, suffered a fractured skull, shattered spleen and other injuries, likely during a series of falls inside the house. He was estimated to have had a blood-alcohol level several times the legal limit for adult drivers.

The house’s security system captured many of the events the night Piazza was injured, footage that had already been played at a preliminary hearing for those charged previously. But until recently, that did not include the basement, where Piazza was found the next morning.

A court affidavit said one of the brothers, Braxton Becker, purposely deleted the basement footage two days after Piazza died but the FBI was able to recover it.

Joe Pedterno thought his name and Ped State football was more important than turning in a serial child rapist on his staff who had been doing this for decades.

How they still have an athletics program, I'll never know.

Does their good really outweigh all the bad? Back in college I saw Sororities as bunches of rich girls who were like paper dolls cut from the same pattern. I never understood why they thought that was great. And one fraternity on campus flew the confederate flag, really messed up!

No one died that I recall when I was in school, but I am sure there were sexual assaults, girls would have just been blamed for it by drinking if they had come forward back then. Not anything to do with Frats, but I was stalked by an ex-boyfriend for almost a year and didn’t hear the word stalking for years, I assumed all his threats would just be he said-she said and dismissed as nothing. 1980s, I do NOT miss you!

That in Kentucky at that time Rape couldn’t even be considered rape if the woman had been drinking. Brought me out of my sheltered naivety fast! She was the first true feminist I ever encountered though, and the class did a lot more than just fulfill a gen ed requirement in my case.

have to be housed in dorms in Pennsylvania? Because there's a law still on the books that if there are more than 18, iirc, and they live together in a house, it's considered a house of ill-repute to put it politely.

They've canceled all official fall social events pending investigations by the university, the police, and the inter-frat council. Parties, pledge-related stuff, line-ups and whatnot, all canceled.

I don't know if that's really stopping anything from happening what with off-campus housing and loopholes, but there have been so many kids going to the hospital for alcohol and other injuries, hazing incidents and sexual assaults being reported, etc.
