Turns out current gun background law is not being enforced.

Cornyn to introduce bill to provide for more resources to enforce existing law.

"Number of records currently being shared with the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is "staggeringly low."

Cornyn not talking about new laws, but is talking about making sure that current law is enforced and acknowledging additional resources may be needed.

I can't stand Cornyn but agree we need this (and much more) but at least this - avoid having horrific mistake or intentional decision lead to death of 26 people.
