(90,202 posts)Who had been paid in the past by the Russians, for one thing and another? Who owed the Russians for favors?
Not the Clintons. Not the DNC. Not the Clinton campaign.
The Russians promised "dirt" on Hillary, and what did they deliver? To this day, a gigantic nothingburger of weaponized stolen emails.
What do the Russians have on Trump and associates? According to Steele, enough Kompromat to sink a battleship. So far, nothing provided by Steele has been disproven, and a great deal of it has been solidly proven.

(5,191 posts)to pundits. The dnc paid for OPPO research ($168000, I believe). Paid to a British firm. They took over the research done by a Republican online newspaper. ALL campaigns pay for OPPO research. ALL candidates try and dig up dirt on the others. The research found some Russian connections to Trump. Simple to understand unless you're a fauxbot.

(90,202 posts)Christopher Steele, a BRITISH citizen and retired BRITISH secret agent, was hired by a REPUBLICAN candidate to do OPPO RESEARCH on Donald Trump. He found plenty.
The REPUBLICAN who hired him dropped out of the race. At some point Steele, very concerned with what he had uncovered, gave or offered his files to the FBI, which freaking ignored it.
The campaign progressed. Apparently Steele, a BRITISH citizen, offered his information to the Clinton campaign and/or DNC. They gave him under $200,000 for it -- not $12 million.
THIS WAS OPPO RESEARCH. NOBODY ON OUR SIDE COLLUDED WITH THE FUCKING RUSSIANS.

Its hard to make sense of what you are saying.

(13,903 posts)she colluded and took money from Russia in the Uranium One deal that the right is lying about
or two,
she colluded with Russia because her attorney or the DNC or someone paid for the Steele Dossier.
Problem is neither GPS Fusion or Steele are Russian nationals or representatives of the Russian gov't.
No one is alleging that the Clinton campaign or the DNC reached out to Russians or Russian gov't to gather dirt on Trump. No one is saying she paid anyone in the Russian gov't for info or traded anything of value with foreign gov'ts to get dirt on Donnie.
The RW is just denying their collusion and trying to conflate the dossier with their own acts.
I do not even know where Steele got his info.
This, unlike Papadopolous who actively sought out Russians and russian gov't officials for meetings and dirt.

doc03
(35,148 posts)will ask if you say Trump colluded with the Russians. So it is perfectly legal as long as they didn't go directly to
the Russians.

(5,240 posts)to interfere with the election for the benefit of Trump. We are talking people who are associated with the Russian government. It isn't the fact that the research exists, it's that the research shows that the trump champaign was working with the Russians to help him get elected. Looking into your opponents past is common asking a foreign government to help you illegally win an election and using emails they hacked is the issue.

(1,387 posts)Trump's people did meet with Russians to get dirt on Clinton
This nonsense about Clinton is disinformation and deflection. Please don't spread this crap further.

(22,976 posts)They only sound the same when explained by a Trump-humping talking head like Newt Gingrich.
Here, Dana Milbanks 10/30/17 column in the WaPo gets into it with humor:
