Too SOCIALIST VA TARGETED For Scrap Heap By Trump, GOP & Conservatives.

On Rachel Maddow show there is pending legislative proposal that will begin to demolish the VA health care system. The conservative movement, the GOP and Trump see the VA as too socialistic and now target it for being privatized and plan to close VA hospital in the long term. The RW conservative movement has been wanting to close the VA for decades and now see their chance with Ttump.

Such a mover is considered ok because veterans overwhelmingly vote for Republicans anyway. And closing the VA would not have any political effect sine the VFW, American Legion and other vets groups are very conservative.

Under their plan it looks like more and more of the VA will be turned over to private insurance under a voucher system just like they want to do to Medicare. The idea is that veterans will be able to buy health care insurance using vouchers. Under Trmpcare veterans on disability would use their disability money to purchase private plans on the market. They would end up in the civilian market.

That would mean even 100% disabled veterans would be vulnerable to caps and copays and maximum benefits. Conservatives fundamentally believe that veterans are NOT entitled to any special considerations because we have an ALL VOLUNTEER military. "YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SIGING UP FOR" is the new meme.

So if you are 100% disabled or have lost one or more limbs you will get your voucher to pay for you prosthetic and rehab.

2. Being A Vietnam Veteran Few People Understand How Vital The VA System Is.

Severely injured vets CANNOT POSSIBLY get the care they need in a privatized system. And the GOP is directly responsible for letting the VA System deteriorate. It has been under funded and understaffed for decades deliberately.

Even the silly ones who think voting republican makes you more patriotic are going to lose their minds. I see them at my local VA, where they wear their little hats and talk about the old times with each other.

But, taking away a promised health care plan, completely reasonable.

9. I have long wished that when they show the HUGE amount of the budget that goes

to the military in this country does NOT include care for veterans. A small percentage of a cut to that money would go a long way to help those who served.
Republicans like vets who don't need health care after their service. They have no problems with making disabled vets, but they sure don't want to take the responsibility for them after.
