I was gonna curse him out: Rep. Wilson describes hearing Trumps phone call with widow of soldier

Trump really is a sick sorry piece of shit. I wish they had given her the phone so she could have laid into that sick fucker. This just makes me mad enough to spit nails.

Back in the neighborhood I grew up in we used to call people like that 'bent'. And the way the word was used I always took it to mean 'not right in the head'. And that is exactly what Trump is ... 'fucked in the head!'

And all these Republicans who for years, hell decades, have run around screaming 'you better support the troops' ... well ok then, it's time to put your money where your big fat fake patriot mouth is!

And they can also start by asking every single elected Republican.. 'do you condemn president Trumps remarks to the fallen soldiers wife?'

Included on the link below is a CNN video of a phone interview with Rep Wilson describing how she heard the call on speaker phone.....

‘I was gonna curse him out’: Rep. Wilson describes hearing Trump’s phone call with widow of fallen soldier

Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) on Tuesday spoke with CNN’s Don Lemon about the phone call between Donald Trump and the widow of U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson, explaining she “was gonna curse” the president out after hearing his remarks.

Wilson was with Johnson’s widow just before the soldier’s remains arrived at Miami International Airport, ABC 10 reports. That’s when Trump called the pregnant mother of two and told her that her husband “knew what he signed up for.” “We were in the car together, in the limousine headed to meet the body at the airport,” Wilson told Lemon. “So I heard what he said because the phone was on speaker.”

“This is a young, young woman, who has two children, who is six months pregnant with a third child,” Wilson said. “She has just lost her husband. She was just told that he cannot have an open casket funeral, which gives her all kinds of nightmares how his body must look, how his face must look. And this is what the president of the United States says to her?”

“There’s no reason for the president to be so insensitive,” the Democratic representative added. “Not only to the family of this soldier, but the impervious rhetoric, you know, disrespectful to the family of every soldier that has paid the ultimate price for our freedom.” “Our community is livid,” Wilson continued. “Because this was our hero. We don’t have many heroes in our young men in Miami-Dade county. But he was a hero for us. And we don’t like what was said.”

" but when it happens it hurts anyway" "Anyway" sounds like a casual toss off word

The mention of pain is something commanders have traditionally gone out of their way to avoid in consoling relatives of deceased soldiers. As an example General Kellys son is said to have "died instantly"

Now to find out it has to be a closed casket and this poor woman is out of her mind with grief and despair wondering: did the love of my life suffer at the end? What does he mean it hurt when it happened?

Damn Trump straight to hell

people hate the media. He had to say more than that one line "He knew what he signed up for". Surely he said he was
sorry about his death or something. Come on even tRump wouldn't call someone that just lost a husband and just say "He knew
what he signed up for".

Trump has all the sensitivity of a toilet seat. He is so far removed from empathy that he doesn't even know how to fake empathy.

tell the widow of a fallen soldier "He knew what he signed up for", regardless of the conversation leading up to it.

Hence the media cherry-picking his horrifically classless and insensitive quip.

Not sure about the races of the other fallen Heroes, but if there's any White folks amongst their survivors ... I have to wonder whether he said anything SO classless and insensitive ... to THEM?!?

Betting the answer would be 'no'.

Trump started the whole thing politicizing the death of the soldiers. I am surrounded by Trump supporters here
in Ohio. I can tell you what I will hear today when I have to listen to the a--holes. Because the soldier was black
it will feed their racism even more. This will actually fire up his base. Just while I was typing Morning Joe reported
that a--hole made a tweet attacking Democrats about it and saying that what he said was totally fabricated and he
can prove it and of course SAD. What an ass.

Phrases that Drumpf uses - "He knew what he signed up for, but it still hurts when it happens", are all from bad TV shows and movies.
What he reportedly told the widow was apparently an excerpt from something you'd hear on NCIS whatever large US city that doesn't have a Navy Base on it by the back-up scriptwriter of the week. Just like everything else he says for public consumption.

I wouldn't doubt that before the phone call, they sat him down in front of the TV with one of those shows for 5 minutes so he could see how "a leader" is supposed to react when one of his men has fallen - and he repeated what he saw literally.

He has shown time and time again he doesn't have enough imagination to do little more than repeat the last few phrases that might have caught his fleeting attention whenever he's been briefed on a subject.
