The show paid tribute to the Navy and each host mentioned their individual military family connections. Joy Behar pointed out John McCain's service and the fact that he was captured and yet chose to stay behind with his men. Joy stated "And that is the same John McCain that Donald Trump made fun of and said 'I prefer heroes who were not captured.' Imagine that. And he still won the election. That was amazing to me. That he could still win an election after he said that about your father. It's unbelievable, isn't it?"
Meghan McCain's response: a blank stare.
The other hosts are waiting. Paula Faris chimes in.
Then McCain mumbles a quiet, uncomfortable "I'm not disagreeing with you. Happy Birthday Navy..."
Then the other hosts chimed in with Happy Birthday.
I suspect McCain is in over her head with this show and time will tell.

(56,177 posts)She's more hawkish than her father and her blind hate of Democrats shows that she'll always be a worthless Repuke

(16,334 posts)until I saw an article about it. She keeps reminding the viewer she is supposed to be the conservative point of view on the panel. Gonna be a tough spot.

(59,501 posts)In 2004, she confirmed she was for Kerry. Not because of his positions, but because she considered him a very nice person, who was very supportive Of McCain when they both were working on the POW/MIA issue. John McCain's book thanks John Kerry for being there in a tough time. In addition, she disliked Bush for the smearing done in the 2000 primary.

(13,573 posts)There was even a ridiculous pic of him giving Bush a big hug. He had to really hate him I would think. But there he was, probably hoping to keep himself in good standing for his turn in 2008.
If we ever needed a better president it was 2004. If it was going to be him, that's when he needed to make a run. In the 2000 election, I felt that if it had to be a republican, maybe McCain would have been okay.
Phentex
(16,334 posts)and has come out and condemned conservatives on certain issues. Seems like an odd choice for the show's devil's advocate.

(5,042 posts)Meghan McCain, unlike a true shitheel like Ann Coulter or Sarah Suckabee Shrek can't defend the indefensible.
Phentex
(16,334 posts)she can't refute some facts and would look like an idiot trying (like her predecessor).

(11,448 posts)Got fired for asking Hillary too many tough questions and they wanted Hillary back on show.
If thats true maybe she is holding back afraid she will get fired.
Personally and I watch show daily I dont think she is holding her position well at all. She seems scared which is unlike her.
Phentex
(16,334 posts)she was another one who liked to think she had the facts but how many times did they come back and correct her after the break?
Also, I think it would be hard to be the Sean Spicer of the panel day in and day out. They have to keep acting like they are okay with the top dog when they really were not and couldn't defend him.

(11,448 posts)At fox news. I couldnt handle it day after day.

(16,334 posts)but it's gonna be hard. She's not a full blown conservative so I'm not sure how she is going to represent that.

(61,694 posts)She was reminded of dotus' grotesque treatment of her father. It hurts. I think it would leave me speechless, too.

(16,334 posts)or say he ought to be ashamed of that. Something.

(61,694 posts)Sometimes when an attack is so personal, it messes with the mind. Her father is dying. He may have asked his family to help him depart with family dignity intact, no fighting with the putrid ignoramus occupying the WH..
I see no reason to attack her, not with this level of anticipatory grief she must be feeling.

(61,694 posts)I'm not opining on her ability as a talk show host or guest host. But when it comes to family relationships, a little kindness from liberals is in order since her father is dying. IMO.

(21,127 posts)I actually like Jeddiah better. And I can tell Sunny doesnt like her . She always has a dour look on her face even Meggan talks. Meggan brings nothing to the table except her name. I dont see her being there long.
