Four senior administration officials said Trump first learned on Wednesday that Tillerson had disparaged him after a July 20 national security meeting at the Pentagon. Trump vented to Kelly Wednesday morning, leading Kelly to scrap plans to travel with the president to Las Vegas to meet with victims and first responders in Sundays mass shooting.
Trump was furious when he saw the NBC News report, which was published shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday.
For the next two hours the president fumed inside the White House, venting to Kelly, officials said.
He left for Las Vegas shortly after 8 a.m., 20 minutes behind schedule.

(5,810 posts)Some tranquilizers down his gullet, similar to how one gives a cat a pill? Kelly probably had to beg off the trip so he could tend to the scratches and bites. Meanwhile, the White House housekeeping staff were busy restoring order to the Oval Office, cleaning the stains out of the carpet and rehanging the drapes. I am not guessing. I have tossed a few pills down the throat of a fighting, hissing, spitting cat.

This comment by Tillerson is completely on the mark for so many reasons - especially if he was furious over the Boy Scout travesty.
To have an understandable outburst such as this, given Tillerson's close association with the BSA, make it to the front pages is so telling of the spread and depth of the available leakers to the press.
I would imagine similar comments in other administrations blurted out by frustrated officers in the moment. But we did not hear of them. Why? Probably because they illustrate a deep and ongoing horror or disrespect of the so-called President. or the disrespect by underling staffers for their immediate boss?
The media must have known about this for a while - so why spring it now?
