Kudos to the tech crew for throwing on the work lights right as Aldean ran off stage

Last edited Thu Oct 5, 2017, 12:47 PM - Edit history (1)

I do this kind of work - and I noticed the quickness that the work lights came up...

These were the huge bank of lights that is over the stage but pointing to the crowd.

Perhaps a auto/failsafe - but right on time.

Probably more trampling had they not come on...

Not a big deal - but something I noticed right away that might not get mentioned.

If there is any problem in the audience that needs light, one fader and they're lit.

On one hand, it gives the shooter visuals.

On the other, you risk trampling/crush injuries if people are desperately trying to get out of a penned-in area in the dark while hoping live rounds don't hit them.

Not like he was really aiming at anything or person - the mass of people was a HUGE target.

Unfortunately - most folks instinct is to get down - which is correct..in most situations.

In this attack - the best thing to do was RUN LIKE HELL!

Were him basically seeing where his shots were landing...

Once he knew the general angle to aim - he let it rip.

Survival was right place on that ground at the right time. It wasn't really about dodging bullets strategically in the dark. He was going to hit a bunch of people just because of the geometry.

that's a lot of people, jam-packed, panicked - he's spraying a concentrated crowd - the faster they spread out, the better

Thank you workers! If I'd been there, and lost my glasses? I wouldn't have been able to see 2 feet without light. Daily heroes are hard to come by; these guys/gals ARE.
