and Kennedy is at his heart is a Republican.

I think Kennedy himself is probably split 51 to 49 internally. Just can't guess which one is the 51

If we do not, one path of correction is closed off, but otherwise status quo continues. But with time as a huge factor, we really need this on our side as we continue toward 2018.

Gerrymander case in NC. With that in mind we have two votes that are 50/50. Definitely have my fingers crossed that this goes the right way. And if it doesn't, democrats sweeping next year with current lines and redrawing the congressional lines will keep them in power for a good 20 years. The political climate for republicans would suggest it a good idea for them make gerrymandering harder, considering the more long term repercussions to them if they don't.

Gerrymandering can't get worse for democrats than it already has. But it definitely can and will for Republicans if they let it stand.

I just don't trust Kennedy not to side with other R's on this one since it's not about social behavior, but political.

Hope I'm wrong!

I'm in Pennsylvania and we need to get gerrymandering out of here and GONE forever.
Long-range plans are in place to redraw the PA districts after the 2020 census.
But it would be great to get the SCOTUS to cut this out right now, even before the census.

Never again - we Democrats have to be vigilant because the GOP is always up to no good.
We fix this as soon as possible, and make sure it stays that way.
