I cant believe i saw this on tv...

...I use closed caption because 1) I'm old and 2) I have 4 dogs who are noisy. So I'm watching My 3 Sons and afterwards there's a commercial for Febreeze car freshener (covering up a woman's beloved dogs 'dog' smell).......all being closed captioned.

Well CC isn't rocket science and it doesn't always work well. The last line of the commercial was ..'because the things you love can stink'...and those words stayed stuck on the TV screen well into the next commercial for a FUNERAL plan. Can you see where this is going? The lady is talking about planning for funerals...and the caption says 'Because the things you love can stink'........

It's often funny to find a connection between back to back commercials.

Charmin toilet paper followed by Roto-Rooter.
Fast food restaurants followed by Pepto-Bismal
AARP followed by Viagra

5. On Pandora, the ad for Febreze uses a bad rapper.

It sounds more like a white stereotype of rap than actual hip-hop.

Everybody knows about bathroom and pet odors. We don't need graphic reminders.

7. Do yourself a favor and get one of those units that has headphones.

It plugs into the sound out of the t.v. and also plugs into the wall. You can put the t.v. on mute and put the headphones on and listen to the t.v. from any room in the house.

I have 2 sets. One for my husband's t.v. and one for mine. We watch different things so we have a his and hers, but sometimes he's watching something I want to watch too so I just put on the other headphones.

13. I once found myself at a funeral directors' convention

and as usual was collecting swag from the various companies (coffins, transport services, stationery, etc.). The best giveaway was a flyswatter!

14. one of my favourite bad product placement moments happened many years ago--some silly

christians and lions scene--and then the old "things go better with coca cola" right after.
