Increasingly, I am developing a litmus test for political candidates . . . . .

. . . . . and that litmus test is one word long: Woman.

Of course I don't actually have a litmus test, but I am of a mind that we are so long past ready to have many, many more women in public office.

If the candidate is a Republican, I'll vote for the other candidate.

Simple.

Next is progressive Democratic men candidates.

Next is Democratic women candidates.

Next is Democratic men candidates.

If there's no Democrat running for an office (happens a lot here in our local elections) then i don't place a vote for that office. No way will I vote for an R, and L, or any non-D. Haven't had any I's show up yet in local elections so I don't yet know how I'd do with that.

As we women have learned, if we're not at the table, then we're on the menu.
