Jimmy Carter on North Korea,

“I would send my top person to Pyongyang immediately, if I didn't go myself,” Mr Carter said.

The former president has visited North Korea three times on diplomatic missions.

He emphasised that North Korea wants assurances that the US will not attack them unprovoked; that any US strike would only be a response to an attack on the the US or an ally.

Mr Carter implied that with Mr Trump in office, that is not a guarantee but that the isolated and mercurial leader Kim Jong-un will need to be engaged directly to broker a peace deal to replace the 1953 agreement that ended the Korean War.

"Until we talk to [North Koreans] and treat them with respect — as human beings, which they are — I don't think we're going to make any progress," he posited.

Jong is a sadistic depraved lunatic. He has little girls yanked out of school to be his sex slaves according to dissenters. He has the families of dissenters sent to torture camps for three generations, and the people all starve while he spends the entire gdp on weapons to threaten the world. No, I don't think diplomacy with him is a particularly good option.

Now it's chumpy's turn to threaten NK and Iran. Same shit, different asshole. Gotta have one or more puke wars, don'tcha know.

Oh, and the reason that NK and Iran have pursued nuclear weapons? They saw what happened to non-nuclear Saddam Hussein and Iraq. No deterrent? Your country might well be in the sights of puke presidents as the next target of war.

Obama and his state dept did everything humanly possible to slow him down, but there was little they could do other than what they did do.

AT no time was the lunatic in NK going to stop working on getting the bomb, the only way to stop them is thru China.

Now though we have two complete idiots arguing about the size of their dicks, and they both have tiny dicks, so this is gonna go bad.

And unfortunately good people sometimes die in the process. Doesn't mean we should just let the evil people of the world do whatever they want unopposed though. Imagine if nobody had ever tried to stop Hitler because "people would die in the war". Kim is smaller in scale, but every bit as evil. Do we let the cancer grow and get stronger, or do what must be done and cut it out for the overall betterment of the world? I agree that war isn't a perfect option, but what else can we do other than let the sadistic lunatic with the bad haircut terrorize the world for another fifty years?

Are you young enough to enlist in the military? If not, do you have siblings or children of age who can enlist, and will you be encouraging them to do so?

I'm not trying to be snarky. My point being simply that this situation is very dangerous and most people aren't willing to sacrifice personally for these goals.

I'll point out also that Hitler didn't have a nuclear weapon at his disposal. This is a bit different in my opinion.

Now, to be fair, what is MY solution? Well, I'd like to envision a stealth Delta Force maneuver, but I doubt that's actually realistic or else it would already have been tried.

Yes, he's almost unimaginably evil and he's got a level of power no one with his level of evil should have. It's possible though to both hold firm on not letting him continue this escalation and ask what he wants. Just ask. Doesn't mean he gets it and doesn't mean we're weak. The fear that not just destroying him as a first step is the same as approving and enabling him can get us all killed fast.

CHINA and Russia began joint naval drills near North Korea on Monday.

China will not permit American forces to attack NK. China is a major nuclear power and is working in concert with Putin.

By good people dying you mean your family? We do not survive a nuclear war-it is only a question of how long it takes the initial survivors to die.

Would they knowingly start a nuclear war with the USA and doom everyone just to defend their puppet nk? They like to prop up nk just to spite us, but I don't think they would destroy the world over it. If we attacked nk they would probably get all pissy, but not actually pull the trigger on us.
