Did Romney remain Bain's CEO from 1999 - 2002 just so certain deals could go through?

Did Bain use the Romney name to gain clients and did Romney allow himself to be used? Just some thoughts.

1. Romney was the sole owner and CEO.

Bain couldn't "use" Romney; Romney was Bain.

2. Yes Romney was Bain..but any hint of him leaving would have put a strain on the company...

and so I am wondering if he agreed to keep his name as the owner to ensure that business was not lost. If that is the case then I think it goes right to the heart of the contention that he is responsible for the deals that caused jobs to be shipped overseas.
