VA Church named after Lee now has a new name

(WSLS) — A Lexington .. church .. has a new name.

After more than two years of debate, the church vestry voted Monday night to remove Robert E. Lee from its name and restore it .. to .. Grace Episcopal Church.

the saints, like Bartholomew or Mary.

Robert E Lee Episcopal Church? Didn't it feel wrong from the beginning?

who wasn't a religious figure of some kind. Most of them are named after Jesus, Mary, the Trinity, saints (if Catholic, Lutheran or Episcopal), places, or religious occasions like Ascension. Seems pretty weird in the first instance to name any church after any general.
