Al Franken Co-Sponsors Sanders' Medicare for All Bill

Today I am announcing that I am cosponsoring Sen. Bernie Sanders’ "Medicare for All" bill.
Like Paul Wellstone, I’ve always believed that health care is a right for all Americans—not a privilege—and that every person in our country deserves access to the care they need. Establishing a single-payer system would be one way to achieve universal coverage, and Senator Sanders’ "Medicare for All" bill lays down an important marker to help us reach that goal. This bill is aspirational, and I’m hopeful that it can serve as a starting point for where we need to go as a country. In the short term, however, I strongly believe we must pursue bipartisan policies that improve our current health care system for all Americans—and that’s exactly what we’re doing right now in the Senate Health Committee, on which both Senator Sanders and I sit.

7. He's not even a Democrat!

Either be a Democrat, or be Farm-Labor. Shit or get off the pot! And he'll never get reelected with his wild promises of universal pasta maker ownership!

Just playing around, although I do hope the brilliant senator from Minnesota begins taking a more prominent role. He's good on the issues, and he's good on the TV, plus no one in DC is ever going to be wittier, quicker.

8. If someone leads many Dem Senators, does that make him a Dem leader?

Just asking!

14. Not really - there are dozens of issues to be concerned about....

Now if that person leads Democrats consistently on a number of issues and legislative matters, then yes he's a leader of Democrats.

Do you know of such a person?
