Somehow I don't think the guy who has Bernie on his show every week is in the tank for Clinton.

(15,411 posts)I like him better than Rachel or Lawrence. His presentation is so level headed and he's very smart.

(20,629 posts)journalistic background as a reporter! Rachel and Lawrence are fantastic, but don't have the same kind of history as far as digging into the details of what gets to the root of a story.

(3,077 posts)Thought what he wrote about her book was pretty fair. And of course Bernie is going to be on, he is in politics right now.

(53,026 posts)Very few appear on television, and none as often as Sanders. Your claim that "being in politics now" means "of course he is going to be on" does not make sense. If it were true, we would see all 535 federal legislators, plus governors and government officials frequently appearing on television.

Ok I will make it more specific. He is going to be on because he is more recognizable and he chooses to use his voice on television more. Not all federal legislators, plus governors and government officials choose to be on. I would also look at the choice of the networks as far as who they choose to have on. They have a say in that as well. I don't see an issue with him or any other political figure being on television.

(81,179 posts)You almost sound surprised, dude.
I wish I liked him better. But I got very tired of having Bernie jammed down my throat every week. It soured me on Chris Hayes, and I'm still having trouble trying to get beyond that.

(53,026 posts)I just turn off the show when that happens. I usually have it on DVR, so I delete before he gets on. Or I skip that episode. I do not have time to watch the show everyday anyway, but I catch maybe two episodes a week.

(35 posts)I feel the same way about Rachel, who left her journalistic credentials at the door when she (among others) was in the tank for Hillary.

(47,209 posts)She's one of the few who looked at the email scandal and saw how overblown it was. Chris Hayes gave it too much credibility. He was sadly part of the problem.

(844 posts)The immediate attacks on excerpts are really just another example of how the media failed the whole election season ; and how they continue to fail now. They want so much to validate their irrational hatred of her to prove the narrative that she was a bad candidate. While she wasn't perfect - no candidate ever is. On experience, and on actually giving a shit about a broad range of issues in a deep and detaild way she was better than any candidate I've ever seen.

(10,500 posts)succeeding in that goal.
There is no way she could write a book talking about 2016 without making references to the people and events involved. And that will inevitably allow someone critical of her to claim that she is shamefully placing blame and behaving in a disreputable manner.
