Dent announces he'll retire from Congress
Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.), a key House moderate from a swing district, announced Thursday that he would not seek reelection next year for an eighth term.
"I've worked to instill stability, certainty, and predictability in Washington," Dent, a co-chairman of the moderate Tuesday Group, said in a statement. "Regrettably, that has not been easy given the disruptive outside influences that profit from increased polarization and ideological rigidity that leads to dysfunction, disorder, and chaos," he said. 1. He's my Rep. He is extremely popular here. I hope we can replace Charlie with a Democrat!

3. Dent is often interviewed by cable news reporters. He seems to be
a reasonable, even handed person.

4. I think so too. It took a while before I even realized he was Republican.
If leaving based on a health-related decision I wish him well. Hopefully his replacement will be a Democrat, we could use the seat.
