9. I grew up in Detroit where we had four networks.

ABC, CBS, NBC, and CBC. (CBC is Canadian Broadcasting). The latter had Hockey Night in Canada and Lord Layton on Saturdays with professional wrestling with the likes of Bobo Brazil, Dick "The Bruiser", and "The Shiek". Later CKLW-Windsor also hired Bill Kennedy at the movies, who broadcast live classic films every afternoon at 1PM, with his compendious collection of historic Hollywood photographs. I think that he was never sober during any of those broadcasts, but he was always entertaining with his vast knowledge on inside Hollywood. Open phone lines, too.
